Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

EVS saying this sort of thing is like Anime Lawyer wishing you a million dollars. It's passive-aggressive bitch-made misdirection. EVS negs the fuck out of people and talks out both sides of his mouth, so he can pretend to be the good guy and re-write the narrative. Only tards fall for it repeatedly(his audience is now 100% tard).

Take DougT: EVS knew Doug was way more talented, hard working, and conservative. He needed to get rid of him.

STEP 1: The love-bomb: "I love Doug, go buy his comic everyone!"

STEP 2: Find something to bitch about, no matter how tenuous: "Wow, Doug was on a panel talking about his DECADES of comic crowd-funding experience and he didn't even thank me, EVS for being the sole reason for his success! He's being disloyal, guys! Doug would have lost his house and probably died in a ditch without our help and he STABBED ME IN THE BACK."

STEP 3: Now there are 2 ways things can go. The tards have been whipped into a frenzy of anger against the target. Either the target tries to mend the fences, leading to apologies, humiliation and a loss of clout relative to EVS in the eyes of the tards, or he tells EVS to fuck off, which is confirmation to the tards that he was guilty of backstabbing. DougT chose option 2 and told EVS to fuck off. This caused a mass-refund of his book by the tards, which almost did put him in a ditch.

The same strat was used on Nerkish and Lim, who also told EVS to fuck off.

Creators with lesser spines or financial security often simply groveled to the fat man.

Now though, his army of tards grows thin, and with them his leverage is diminished. He can no longer love-bomb or refund-bomb someone effectively. People can now safely ignore his sperging.
An important step to recognize in the cycle is after Ethan kicks them out he will let them back in to kick them out again. That is why he would welcome back Renie with open arms (that and lack of attractive women for superchat bait). So he can kick her out again a final time. This kicking, then taking back is a tactic to peel off their followers. Come to think of it having people join Comicsgate in the first place is to peel off their followers. Play nice with the creator, take in their following win them over, then eventually trash the creator kick them out twice, end up keeping some of their original followers or at least making the kicked person lose followers. The moral is don't join Comicsgate. If you do and get booted don't come crawling back.

Some good examples, Vikkiverse originally a CG follower who left I believe way back during the harassment of BeanFromPa (former CG'er and political twitter user retweeted by Trump several times, add her to the list). Then much later Ethan became cool with Vikki and Dean to shit on Preston Poulter and get sued. This had an effect of whoever following Vikki at the time: Midnight Cherry, leftovers from Poulter's crew, SWC people, Amazing Adam etc noping out because they hate Ethan. Some of these people came back but some never did or take years it has a net effect of the twice kicked losing following.

Another is Warcampaign who were kicked twice, first at the Fall of Rome, and second in the Anna Thot Wars. This peeled off many supporters of Warcampaign to become Ethan supporters. The first time they were kicked also the audience was taught to hate them so the taking back was never accepted (you see this currently with Liam), then the second time the hating was reinforced and final. This situation was more complex but you get the gist.

If quality mattered he would not have churned out this horrible cover for Eric July. I know it was mentioned somewhere in this thread. It is hands down some of Ethan's weakest work. Ethan's ISOM cover and Nolan's YAIRA cover for comparison. I don't like either of them for the record. Neither artist gave their best work here imo.
Both Ethan's and Shane's ISOM covers were shit. Nolan's feels kind of empty. You're putting your work in front of thousands of people that will be exposed to it for the first time. Is that really the best you can do? I don't understand these people.

Your recollection is pretty much correct. EVS did want to fulfill Zack's late campaigns (the irony), and he did pitch the idea of an EVS/Zack stream. Weeks later, EVS would make these vague comments about how he still wanted to stream with Zack, but Zack had ghosted him.

I don't remember everything Zack said in response on his channel, but I do remember him saying that he hated doing live streams. I think this was about the time when Zack would start to ghost EVS on a permanent basis.
When YBZ did his "new Jawbreakers for 1 dollar" campaign, he also did a video telling people asking him to do streams to go fuck themselves, and that streams were cancer, presumably in response to fans and EVS. He sounded very shaken. A lot of CGers took that personally. EVS was coping pretty hard at the time, in this thread and his streams.

After some time of coping, he started pulling up YBZ videos and campaigns so he could shit on him, in the most passive aggressive way imaginable.

That’s a great point, and I never noticed it till you pointed it out. For the prodigal, the return to EVS moment alienates everyone who respected them for sticking by their guns. And there seem to be a lot of people like that.. I think this touches on what @ExGater keeps referring to as the legions of EVS victims eager for blood? (Possibly even explains the contribution EVS thinks he’s made to Yaira’s success, but don’t quote me.)
I don’t think EVS exactly claws back any backers in this process, but once the rabble rousers think their boy is a gutless (ahem) toady they’re not backing that creator anymore. EVS’ enemies weakening = more gravitas for the frog king.

If he does this on purpose, he’s a slick operator

edit, grammar

I want to highlight this because it's exactly the point I was trying to make. Don't go back to EVS i'm talking to people like Kelsey and Renie, it won't work out.

Is that really the best you can do? I don't understand these people.
They see it as work for hire, plus a friend discount so you aren't getting their best. Alternate covers are stupid anyway people buying a complete set or whatever are morons.

What's the story on Kelsey and Jeff? I always thought Kelsey was too chill and talented to be hanging around those guys, I'm glad he's at least out of there, but I also haven't heard much about him.

I didn't even realize WCBS was still going on but I looked at their channel and they get pretty good views still. What happened there?
Kelsey was one of the Tampa Bay Comic Con attendees and made a bunch of friends, so when Malin turned the JACK show into a tirade against the "dungeoneers", the pathetic perverted drug addict cringe middle-aged nerds who went to bdsm sex shows together (just jokes bro), Kelsey said after the two hour mark "geez this doesn't really sound like a joke Jon". This led to a now privated fight which they gloated I wasn't around to write up at the time. When PTP's DM group chat was leaked ('The Dungeoneer files'), Anna cried because apparently Kelsey wanted to hang out with comic people rather than attend her wedding, which she viewed and sold to her simps as the ultimate betrayal.

But even before that, it was painfully obvious that Kelsey had grown bored and frustrated with Comicsgate's stagnation and refusal to progress, address problems or show the slightest bit of leadership years ago. He still livestreams on a rotating program called Graybeards, a much more laid back show of some 50 year old men kicking back and drawing comics because that's just what they like to do. As opposed to drunken shouting on which instagram dwarf is the most fuckable or another 2 hours with 'J Doll Hefner'.

WCBS and Frog were fine until he decided to efap Jeff's wife Jesse Milestone's histrionic encounter with the police for comedy value.

Both Ethan's and Shane's ISOM covers were shit. Nolan's feels kind of empty. You're putting your work in front of thousands of people that will be exposed to it for the first time. Is that really the best you can do? I don't understand these people.
Canaan's was the best ISOM #2 cover because it was (3d) model accurate and evoked old school bronze age covers. Shane seethed that he was the only guy that Eric didn't trust with any of the story details so he just drew him a generic picture of Isom punching a wall.
The best Rippaverse covers so far were the alternate Alphacore covers by the guy that does Marvel Flair cards and the other one which was reminiscent of Leinel Yu. Joe Bennett's Alphacore cover was shit to the degree where it was actually worse than most of his interiors, which I'm not sure how that was even possible.

Perhaps, to go with this list, there should be a montage of bad sunbeam behavior. Does anyone have a mirror of the stream where there was a lot of "totally real" crying over Dynamite? I recall something about Barucci and something like "it's hard to stand up when you're under attack" happening shortly after Cecil's cash grab crossover was called out by Renfamous... Anyone remember this?

Oh they married? I thought they broke up or decided to stop talking about the relationship.
They broke up around the time the police footage from Jessie's arrest leaked. Uncertain if it was before, during, or after, only know it was around that time. Prime and I covered it, in part out of spite. She filed a complaint with the cops resulting in an investigation that barred us from getting the footage for 9+ months. So we waited it out and got it once the cops finished their investigation of improper behavior.

Maybe? I have no clue honestly what's up with them. I hear @GPrimacado is the guy who'd be up to date about Jessi's marital status though.

@Mister Dongs

i thought Frog decided to stop dealing with WCBS after they fell out with Nerdrotic and his crew?
No, worse. He sent Shane Davis as an interview guest as a show of support. It was so awful I actually wrote it up here. Relations ended after Frog did a 3.5 hour efap of Jessi Milestone making a Karen out of herself vs cops here.

Now the Soskas are "intersectional feminist girlbosses," who have bewitched EJ and who have taken over the Rippaverse. LOL!

EVS really is losing his fucking mind if he thinks he can convince people that EJ/Rippaverse is now SJW. Pathetic desperation.

I've heard EJ say something like, he doesn't care about the politics of the people who work for him as long as they leave out of the comics. Does EVS have a issue with that? I think he's expanding the umbrella of what a "girl boss" is, I'm sure his precious Heather Swain would fit in that definition. But, he's got to own the blacks.

Like sure the art for Yaira looks inconsistent, but he just jumps into the feminist blame cope spiral. It's no different when left wing loons pull out the "it was always woke" card that expands the definition of "woke" to hyperbolic proportions so that they have a rightiod chud gotcha.
