Canada is a failed state

That's wild.

Waterloo was always pretty bougie.

It was always overrun by jeets and chinks. But I never remember any signs of poverty or addiction during visits there.
I can remember Waterloo in the mid 2000s was bougie af. Moved there from the US as a pre-teen (Dad's Franco-Ontarian) and was told that it was a town that chewed people out and spit them out. Don't think I ever fully fit in there, but I think the natural inclination was for people to either drift into Kitchener or Cambridge if they were poor.

Why?

Because being poor back then didn't mean you'd be living in a Shanty Town (Another thing the liberals brought back), but instead that you were probably working poor but could otherwise afford a 300-500 apartment in Kitchener- so why be homeless?

I think this balance was probably what kept Waterloo rather tame overall. You had an offshoot area for people to go to where they could at least have some semblance of life

You can't tell from this view but that's a GO train station over on the right. I actually had to commute through here a few months back and couldn't fucking believe that they set up a homeless encampment right next to such a large station. Some dude was walking around there smoking crack with his pants sagging and he just got onboard like nobody's business, but that's probably a typical thing all around KW.

Ill point this out as when I used to work for a soup kitchen, it was in this area. I left a year into covid because I just did not like the way that Canadian society seemed to be going, and when I came back- was shocked to see that homeless camp.

Before covid, most of the homeless were there by choice. What do I mean by this? Most of them were the type that even if you gave them an apartment, would just trash it, party, do drugs, etc or were mentally ill. Very, very few people were those who were actually trying in life, trying to work and keep a job, etc. Thats what scares me about all this.

Its completely reversed currently. Sure, the crazy homeless are still there, but the vast portion are people who should be fine within the system, who would be fine half a decade ago. I think its also going to get worse. With the homeless, there was never really violence before. Now, volunteers get assaulted, sexually molested, and theyre all on drugs openly in the street, or in the building across from the GO station, literally shoot up heroin in the open (I am not exaggerating there).

It actually pushed me away from volunteering, and I had seen occasional violence before- but it went from being a very, very rare exception, to the norm.

What the city is doing is putting people in camps currently, or building shacks for people in compounds on the edge of the city, to try and keep the homeless out of sight and out of control, but jesus this situation is so dystopian.

And thats ignoring the jeet problem currently.

I know someone talked about how squatting in your own home wasn't an option and that in the US in 08' the police cracked down hard on anyone trying that, but honestly- Ive seen glimpses of whats waiting out there on the street, and its just not good. Its a better option overall to do anything you can not to be homeless currently.

I believe the most likely outcome of 2025's elections is the Conservative party winning as a minority-government. It'll be harder to propose and pass shit laws, since you need to be in agreement with the majority. Pierre might be a snake (like all politicians), but the candidates under him could have good ideas and skills that wouldn't shittify this country any further.
I disagree. The Tories can win a majority because of the housing/cost-of-living crisis, rising crime rates, endless scandals, and the fact that people are just sick of Justin Trudeau and his pack of hyenas after almost nine long years. You can tell that the Liberals are getting desperate when they have to drag out the MAGA boogeyman and are hoping that Poilievre will do or say something monumentally stupid to turn the polls around. It won't work because they refuse to pivot from the policies that are making them unpopular., especially the carbon tax rebate. Also note that the Liberals are slow to react to the many problems assailing the nation. They wouldn't even be addressing cost-of-living or housing if PP wasn't raising Cain over it. Even then, all they do is enact half-measures and hope the problem resolves itself.

I will say this: the fundamental difference between Trudeau and Poilievre is that Trudeau is an ideologue who is more dogmatic than Torquemada. Part of it has to do with upbringing. Trudeau grew up in a world of opulence as the son of a Prime Minister so he has no understanding of hardship and lacks the ability to empathize with others beyond a superficial level. It does not help that he inherited Pierre's arrogance and most likely Margret's mental illness given that he harbors delusions of grandeur and acts like he has a messianic complex given his belief in his own moral infallibility.

Poilievre, to his credit, is more pragmatic and canny operator than Justin (your mileage may vary) so his rise to prominence is that he hears what Canadians' concerns are and at least pays lip service to more convincingly than the Liberals. I can't say with absolute certainty on how he'll approach immigration. What I can say for certain that he has made an effort to reach out of working-class Canadians because NDP support has remained stagnant when it should be rising with a fall in Liberal support. If faced with a problem, I can imagine Poilievre pivoting on any given position whereas Trudeau won't because of his ego.

Stop acting like a goddamn martyr, Justin. You stay in you position because your oversized ego will never let you willingly hand over the reins to someone else.

Oh, and here's a freeze frame for soyjak fodder.

I remain firmly convinced that if everyone voted their conscience the People's Party would form a majority government.
Honestly with how that party seems to attract schizos to run for it, I’d legit pay to see that happen.

Seriously, between them and the Greens, do the non-mainstream parties exist just to tard wrangle people that’re too retarded to be in office up here?

Cry us a fucking river, Princess Justin. If you're so bored in your job then just fuck off to China already so we can fix the ills of society you and your cronies have allowed to fester
Articles like this make me believe he's starting to accept he won't win the next election. It's defeatist bullshit so he won't look as bad when his uniparty replacement with better optics takes his place. The kikes have grown tired of his faggy bullshit and all the damage he's done. Time to take the foot off the gas and bit and before slowly creeping back up on it later.

I don't know how. things are really fragile right now, and are only holding up because the constant lying that things are okay. Things are a powderkeg right now, and any changes involving walking back their actions may break the illusion and cause everything to fall apart.

It wouldn't be a total 180 from current policy. It'll be the illusion that positive things are happening to quiet down the noise and pacify the country a bit. Once enough people think things are "back on track" after the disaster that was Trudeau, they'll be free to continue their price gouging and flooding the country with third world garbage.

Welcome to Burlington, Ont. The most dreariest, statistically nothing-ever-happens and boring city you could find in the GTA. Home of the highest concentration of monied, bougie, noveux-riche white boomers and their mommies and daddies from TO aka the original "white flight" - (not to be confused with the 'old Toronto money' in neighbouring Oakville).

Another day, another trip to the bank where a shotgun gets held to your head during a robbery and SWAT team standoff.

Two people have been arrested following an armed robbery in Burlington Friday afternoon. This robbery then led to a stand-off with police a short distance away.

Halton police say officers were initially called to the Royal Bank at 3030 Mainway at around 3:30 this afternoon for reports of a robbery.

CHCH News spoke with one person who did not want to appear on camera but says they were inside the bank at the time of the robbery. They describe seeing one of the suspects holding a shotgun against someone’s head and telling people to get on the floor as they demanded money.

The two suspects fled the area in a vehicle and were located by police a short distance away on Mainway just outside of a CARSTAR Collision and glass service building.

One of the suspects was immediately taken into custody, however, the second suspect remained in the vehicle with a firearm.

Police had asked people in the area to stay inside and shelter in place while they negotiated. Just before 6 p.m., police arrested the second suspect.

See, even the wealthiest of wealthy white boomers in the GTA are having a hard time now. Can't just safely go to the bank to access their wealth like it's just a sunny day in 1993 and Diet Coke is on sale this week. Why did Stephen Harper do this?

Use an aliased pixelated brush to achieve a more 'jak aesthetic.
Thanks for the tip; I agree. I find the flex brush I used for this helps when you aren't given as many well-defined details on the face, but I'll give tracing over the layer with one of my old tech pens a try. They have more of that flat MS paint feel. [Edit: Did a full redraw. See above.]

Anyone have a photo of him doing a full soyjak point off into the distance? The pose information is more important than the face, and he carries himself much more faggily than some random stock image guy in a suit.

Yeah, that’s the last thing I wanted to hear.

LCBO job application line up.
Labour shortage? Canada? Normal lines?

Mother fucker we’ve been replaced and until people are put on the stand for treason this will never change. In two decades they plan for all whites in Canada to be breed out or subjected in the streets by Muslims, pakies, Arabs, Indians, Mongolians, sir lankin, or African who combined barely hit the 80 IQ threshold.

Burlington is creepy. It's not the perfect little town it portrays itself as. The murders and crime gets swept under the rug there and they pick up all the homeless and drop them off in Hamilton. You can feel something "not quite right" underneath the surface.

But yes the people are crazy, crazy snobs. My goodness, the snobbery is hilarious every negative quality that is stereotyped to rich people they display.

It's a skilled labour shortage, though thats mostly due to the ponzi scheme of education failing.

Did you know people with STEM or programming degrees are winding up homeless now? Shits bad- and yeah, inb4 an undergraduate in computer programming isnt a job guarantee, you need experience (wasn't that difficult to get experience a decade ago).

Its because a) education standards are dropping,

and b) places just can't afford to hire & train new people, you need people with years of experience, to take an entry level job's wage-rate, just to keep a business afloat.

The natural thing at that point is to look for people experienced overseas, who are willing to work for a drastically lower wage, and never train new people domestically. Its just a pity that many of those from overseas (*cough, Indians*) often lie on their resumes.

Its a failing system, theres no other way to put it, but yeah- the other aspect of this is that those low end jobs that recent grads, high schoolers, etc could jump into to get some work experience or tide themselves over to afford at least a basement apartment? Well, you've seen the lines.

Trudeau ruined a generation, and I hope that is never forgotten. That is what his legacy should be.
