RU Shooting and blast reported at concert hall near Moscow, Russian agencies say - ISIS Claims Responsibility

March 22 (Reuters) - Shooting broke out at a large concert hall near Moscow on Friday, Russian news agencies quoted emergency services as saying.



RIA news agency said at least three people in camouflage clothing had opened fire at the Crocus City Hall, and that some people had been wounded.

Police had arrived at the scene, RIA said.

Video footage published on Russian social media channels showed chaotic scenes, with a large crowd of concertgoers attempting to flee the hall, followed by gunshots.

Other video footage showed a number of people lying motionless in pools of blood outside the hall

Reuters was unable immediately to verify the footage.

TASS news agency reported an explosion and a fire in the building where the shooting took place.

The Kommersant newspaper posted footage online showing smoke billowing from what it said was the concert venue building.

A couple of theories from Russia-Ukraine war thread:

Theory I'm seeing is that these bullets were hand loads and they were loaded too hot.

Steel cased ammo tend to have their bullets made with copper washed steel jackets instead of actual copper jackets, it's cheaper. Those make sparks when shot.
it's stupid soft steel but the boomer fudds like to talk about how it makes it penetrate armor better. They are right when they sperg about range safety though, the sparks starting fires and shrapnel splashing back.

My feeling about this is that this isn't necessarily proof that it's a cooked-in CIA operation. I feel like, if it's anything, the Ukrainians were planning something independently and the CIA/State Department found out about it and wanted to limit the possibility that this shit kills American citizens.

This shit was all over the news weeks ago with different gubmints sounding the warning that some kebab shit was likely to go down in russia. If this was a direct westoid glowie op it probably would have happened then.

As for it being a "turning point in the war" russia has had a thousand and one chances to pull a glorious victory out the hat over the last two years and has declared its "getting serious" so many times it was a stale meme by late 2022. Theres not going to be any magical superweapons or legions of trad-orthodox supersoldiers being spawned into reality by a terrorist attack despite what Modern Warfare 2 may have led folks to believe.
