It seems like Dragon's Dogma 2 is getting trashed because everything is a microtransaction, from fast travel to revive stones. This should be good. We are going to be getting a lot of "fuck you Capcom" rants.
That, plus the game is garbage. Capcom has been putting nonsense micro in their single player games that you couldn't imagine the biggest and laziest of whales buying-- hi DSP!-- since, at least DMC 5 but no one has cared as long as the game itself was good; and they have been, until now...

The microtransactions in DD2 thing is overblown, just like the microtransacions in DMC5 and Mega Man 11 were. Capcom making some shekels off people too lazy too actually play the game is all it is. Not even close to the predatory shit in the mobile games Phil drains his wallet into.

Imagine the great games we would have without retards like you defending this corporate fuckery.

I can't stand when Phil talks about gaming topics he's "right" about. RE: Bethesda. Yes, he's right and it's right to shit on them for having 500 people and still make a mediocre (yet still fun sometimes) game. I can't even explain it. The way he talks about topics is so holier than thou. He knows everything. Knows how games are made, know how studio's internal teams operate and of course, we have to relate it back to how great he was at the helicopter company.

You know what I'm saying?

You probably don’t know this, but about 11 years ago he worked at a helicopter company, and ……

My guess is since it's not in "buhderry smoof" 60fps and is known to have some serious stuttering issues in the populated areas he'll go sausage mode when the framerate fails him on a crucial fight and he loses 20 minutes of walking time. The way they designed the game even on a brand new i9 the game is fucking all over the place with it's frame rate.
Cue those annoying: “ARE YOU SEEING THIS?!? ACK ACK ACK!” Because there’s a slight frame rate dip somewhere.

I got one the classis "LOOK LOOOOOKKKKKKK" when the game stutters like a motherfucker when he's doing a hard turn in the most character filled part of city, the game runs like utter dogshit even on the highest end PC's and the console version is just as bad you're looking at like low 20's fps in the city or the large enemies.

He always ends up getting the worst luck with glitches and bugs, so it'll be funny to see the shit the ends up happening in the game. Both consoles have sub 30 and its not locked so the framerate jumps all over the place, absolutely horrible optimization.

Of course, this is the same guy who said that Starfield was a shoo-in for GOTY...then backpedaled hard when that was clearly not happening.

He's talking about the BG3 and how they're moving away from DnD. Yet he has no fucking idea of all the bullshit going on with Hasbro/WotC. No wonder you don't get why!
He's also pretty late to the punch. IIRC, after the game released they made it pretty clear that, while they were going to continue to support the game with patches/get the console releases out and everything, they had no intention of doing DLC/expansions and were already thinking about their next project. And it's not like they're known for making D&D stuff or have any sort of official partnership with WotC. I think a lot of people assumed there'd be DLC because that's how modern games tend to be, but as far as I know, Larian hasn't done DLC previously. They keep updating it and eventually release a definitive edition (for free if you own the game already) but they don't really do any proper expansion stuff. It's one of the reasons a lot of people like them as a company, you buy their game once and that's all you need to worry about. Not to say that they're a perfect company or anything, but that's definitely a point in their favor.

They're selling consumable items that can easily be obtained in-game. Basically a "pay a buck to not have to grind or get good" button. If anything, this helps them make more money on good games like DMC5, which encourages the bean counters to let them make more good games instead of crappy live service stuff which does have game ruining microtransactions. If you can't see the difference, maybe you're the retard?

this implies the MTX has any bearing on how the game turned on/was designed, and so far, I haven't seen that to be the case.

don't get me wrong MTX bad, but has there been anything to imply Dragon's Dogma's design was changed to push people towards MTX? since I've only seen the opposite.

His mush mouth now extends to typing. Once again, this was another late-night gin tweet.

Unrelated but his alias is fuckin' wack.

RELAXING gaming is back?

We have been doing too much relaxing since the start of 2024 with all the boring shit he's been putting out. Dude is falling asleep half the time on night streams.

Bring back Tekken.

Why doesn't he have another vote or something on Twitter for a game for him to play?

I feel like he hasn't done a poll recently and those tended to go rather well in the past?

He can play LITERALLY any game he wants, why does he insist on clinging to brand new releases while his ship sinks.

It's easier to blame the dents if it doesn't go well

Because "da trolls" will vote for the one he doesn't want to play

So $74 dollars in tips on the day 1 DD2 hype stream. $50 of that was given in the pre-stream. He couldn't even make it to the hat goal. It wasn't for a lack of trying, the tahxicity was low and he was desperately clowning and riffing on the cutscenes. I know this has been said a lot over the years, but is it finally winding down for Phil? It feels like every new game gets less and less, BG3 is somewhat of a rarity these days. There will be the Elden Ring DLC later this year that will likely net him hundreds per stream, but it feels like Phil's whales are starting to dry out.
