I recall this being spotlighted as "see! we did something!" by shitgops a few days back. I think just nobody really cares.
The border issue frankly is more of pressing matter then embassies waving LGBT flags or not and that hasn't been solved. It's a minor win (if even that) and nothing more.

It's drop of good in a bucket of bad.

The White House is going to contest it to even if is temporary, guess they want their embassies to be ready for that certain month.

There's the old 'putting fit white dudes back in military recruitment ads' argument, but I think it has more to do with appeasing governments/populations who are not on board with the butt-stuff. Niger suspended military cooperation a couple weeks ago, they need to keep working arrangements with third world countries in strategically important locations. Associating US embassies with homo lust could affect local opinions. Somebody snuck it in there and the other demented retards in charge didn't bother to read it.
Apparently there were 50 amendments about gay flags, and this was the one that they finally gave up on. Props to that one extremely dedicated representative.

Where are you seeing anyone spend half-dollars?
I get them occasionally. most are copper-nickel post-70 halves but i have got a fair amount of silver. since 2019 i have pulled all this silver from my register till:

Half Dollars: 14 90% silver 2 40% silver, oldest is a 1937 walking liberty half
Quarters: 6 90% silver, oldest is a 1909 barber quarter. 2 S proofs.
Dimes: 14 90% silver, oldest is a 1914 barber dime. most are mercury dimes, they are easy to spot. im sure i have let many FDR silvers sneak by. just don't have the time to rim check them all. same for quarters. one S proof.
war nickels: 8 35% silver. during WW2 nickels were minted in silver becase nickel was being used for the war.
buffalo nickels: 5. most have no dates due to circulation wear.
Liberty head nickels: 3. oldest is 1905
Indian head cents: 3, oldest is 1891. one Indian head (minted 1900) i recovered was nearly in mint condition, someone must have dumped (or stolen) a relatives collection. it should be worth about 5 dollars last i checked.
Wheat cents: a lot, i stopped counting.
Canadian coins a literal pile of canadian pennies. I only keep the copper ones now, they were pretty heavy in copper compared to US pennies. lots of Canadian quarters too. unless its interesting to me i just throw them back on the pile.

to anyone reading who is a cashier or deals with lots of change etc, ALWAYS check the dates. Any quarter, dime and half dollar minted before 1964 is 90% silver and worth substantially more money that their face value. any half dollar minted 1964-70 as well. Any indian head penny is worth more than face, and any coin minted in San Francisco (S mint mark) or West point (W mint mark) are worth keeping as well, even if they are copper nickel. and always keep proof coins.

tbf there probably are some districts where the electorate actually are more concerned about a gay flag then crapping away a trillion dollars on shit

This is what the gop wants you to think
Places that are heavy anti globohomo wouldnt trade 6 months of no flags for billions in gay propaganda

nah, there's still a more than a couple of mouth-breathing Greatest Ally's Greatest Ally neocons out there in the voting base who don't care where the money goes as long as some guy maybe isn't sucking a dick as openly

I'm gonna defend the guy. This is far more amusing than you all seem to realize. It cost almost no time or effort to suggest small amendments and this one is -tiny-. So all he did was make sure to toss it in whenever a new bill was up and just -wait- for people to overlook it.

This was a pet project that now has made an entire administration screech. This man turned an entire government into a lolcow for himself, and -that was the point-.

Counterpoint: the fed being denied 1.2 trillion dollars is more based than taking away their rainbow flags. All Republicans should be against every spending bill.

Him adding an amendment doesn't stop him voting against the bill as a whole. He just has to toss that in, in case it passes anyway. These are not mutually exclusive.

GOP was too busy working on the details to invite Bibi Netanyahoo to speak in front of Congress.

What's going on right now is a dramatic reorganization of the Party System. This has happened a few times in our history. The "Uniparty" will consolidate itself, eventually, into a demented form of its own party, whereas I imagine there will be some kind of more forceful Right-Wing, Isolationist, and populist party to counter it.
Yep. The Whig Party disintegrated in the early 1850's, and the Republican Party filled the void. I haven't looked too closely into what caused it, but I'm pretty sure people were all "When are you going to do something about the slavery issue instead of just harping on about free markets?"

They are an unstated reason why being enlightened centrists are a bad idea. I can understand not teaching it because 19th century American history is rather boring talking about having a central bank and how States should interact with the Federal government. The Indian Wars also aren't that interesting to examine on a military level other than to say that logistics win wars and Natives just couldn't wage wars of attrition.
