I’m a woman and while I have too many irl activities to be a “gamer”, I do enjoy occasionally playing games. I downloaded the shit out of the “make your lady character hotter” mods for Skyrim back in the day because it’s all pretend so why wouldn’t I want to look pretty in game? The obnoxious elderly schoolmarm pearl clutching about how female armor needs to be realistic in video games is annoying to me, because who the hell cares? It’s pixels on the screen. Sure, I guess if I ever find myself in real life combat against a dragon for some reason, then I will absolutely choose sensible armor. Meanwhile, the game's AR hardly works when you want to interact with your Pokemon, League Pvp is full of cheaters and hackers, events and season events give you terrible rewards, and raiding is almost impossible unless you buy remote passes and find people to play with (the raiding system is really bad, and they also increased the price of remote passes). The p2w stuff is getting worse.

Almost everyone who plays it just drives around, parks at a place with a bunch of stops and gyms all clustered together, and sits in their cars spinning Pokestop discs and tapping away at gym battles. There isn't much to do if you solely want to play it while walking, unless you're in a dense area designed for tourists.

Even when you go to those places you still get lots of shitty Pokemon that won't help you with endgame. You have to pray to God there's an event or community day with decent Pokemon you can attend, and they're also nice enough to give you Stardust boost (for those who never played Go, you need Dust to level Pokemon). The funniest thing about "losing weight" through Pokemon Go is the only decent rewards are km milestones because the rewards for doing a lot of routes tend to suck.

i doubt the devs have specific tranny motivations, most likely they are simply told to implement management decisions which were made after some high ranking corporate leaders in the company signed off on some DEI guidelines
