Disaster "Mass casualty incident" declared after Key Bridge in Baltimore collapses

No article yet as this just happened, but could be big. One of the largest bridges in the world according to Wikipedia.

BBC says the ship had an all indian crew.
So Indians are as good at maintaining boats as they are writing software. Not surprising. I'm working on a project with, those people and I want to genocide the whole country.
No. This is who it was.

Reminds me of the sunshine skyway bridge collapse. Seems weird they wouldn't include protective pilings in front of the bridge like the rebuild of the sunshine skyway bridge did.
Can they build protective pilings strong enough to withstand impact from something that big and heavy?
Since many people took that bridge and feel the need to tell us, as if they miraculously escaped death...I too visited the World Trade Center about 15 years before 9/11. Pray for me.
I drive over a bunch of bridges my way in and out of work. Sooner or later my luck will run out. Pray for me.
Who gives a shit
No one. It's all performative.

NTSB livestreamed a briefing. Not much other than an accurate timeline and confirmation the entire ship lost power including the bridge and the Voyage Data Recorder. The backup power for the VDR continued recording sound from the bridge, but all other sensor feeds went dead. I'm not sure how much stored info they will be able to extract from the individual system controls.
Ok, that sounds sketchy as hell. Is it just me?

Good luck with that.

Congress will need to approve of the $1 Billion or so for the reconstruction. All the Republicans need to do is include a clause that the bridge has to have the same name.
Hahaha, yeah, that'll happen. The only thing Conservatives conserve is their pocketbooks. The second someone who literally wants to put them in gulags and feels they are a threat to the continued existence of Earth itself glares at them they'll cuck immediately. Can't risk being called mean names on MSNBC, you know?

Also, Billion? It'll be 10 billion + at least. 80%+ will be embezzled by local leftist shit.

I mean - it is pretty sad - you can see the services trucks on the bridge (flashing yellow lights) in the video, they probably had no idea it was coming as the horn probably didn't work either on the boat due to the power outage.
I'm glad they died. Road construction is a pain in the ass. The more road construction people that die the better. You people who are getting teary eyed about some road workers must not drive or be faggots. Possibly both.
I assume most of the people here bitching in this topic would be on the fucking fainting couches at the stuff being posted within hours of 9/11 back in the day. Never mind that many of the people working at the WTC were exactly the kind of bughivers we'd actually want less of!
No. No fainting couch. But the owner of the company I worked for at the time was in one of the planes that hit. That kind of sucked.
If you want to try to find some upside, it's at least on opportunity to let more normies know of the incompetence of Indians and another example of how globalism makes our lives worse.
TOTAL.JEET.DEATH.
Well, Baltimore is still dumping untreated sewage out of their under-maintained wastewater plants. A non-nuclear explosion in the kiloton range would be a net positive for the upper bay ecology.
Must make the 'jeets feel right at home.
What happened to "Build Back Better"?
To build back first you have to destroy.
You totally can build a bridge that is immune to this, you just make sure the ships cannot hit the piers, by building artificial islands around them using riprap and such. It's annoying and expensive, but it's not terribly so.
That looks like shit. I would rather have a bride that looks normal rather than a shitty, ugly bridge.

We're talking Baltimore. 1.5 billion AT BEST. This sucker is like screaming "sooooey" at a hog lot with the amount of pork that will be in it. They will look at Boston's Big Dig and say "hey watch this!"
That is still too generous. 2-3 billon at the least. Remember, we are talking about a city that is a stones throw away from DC. This will probably be the most expensive construction project in US history. Never underestimate a Blue city and their ability to shove as much useless pork into a project.

Good luck with that.

They not only refused to stop the destruction of national monuments in 2020, they overrode Trump's veto done explicitly to preserve the name of Fort Bragg.

These cucks will allow it.

I will say that it is quite funny and ironic that all these infrastructure disasters have happened under Biden. What happened to "Build Back Better"? Hell, wasn't that the motto for all these WEF puppets and yet their countries too are having infrastructure problems. Never trust over-educated rich kids who have never built anything to "Build Back Better".

Our economy is worth a single penny. My plan cuts that in half!

Let’s review:

1. There’s no evidence Baltimore did anything wrong (in fact, they shut the bridge down incredibly quickly).

2. There’s no evidence the crew or harbor pilots did anything wrong (in fact, it looks like they responded by the book).

3. There’s no evidence that the bridge was structurally unsound or had any glaring design flaws.

4. There is evidence that the ship’s power plant suffered catastrophic failure which could be due to a lack of maintenance, design flaw, or freak accident.

What this means is all these takes about Baltimore being a shithole and pajeets being retards and other stereotypes are really meaningless and based on nothing. They are satirical at best and ignorant at worse. In fact, this was handled incredibly well for what could have simply been an act of God.

The ship’s maintenance record is the only missing piece of the puzzle here. If it turns out to be clean (which is not unlikely), there is really nobody to blame, and in fact the crew and first responders of Baltimore should be praised:smug:
This was a preventable disaster that should have been prepared for 40 years ago when it happened before.
This bridge collapse is similar to the sunshine skyway bridge collapse of 1980 and the lessons learned from it back then were to build barriers around the bridge pylons to prevent a ship collision. Doing so would be doubly important on a bridge near a busy port. For 40 years nobody did.

This was also mentioned by John Konrad in a recent stream that its been advised that barriers be built around bridges for 40 years.
He mentioned a few other things that were interesting in the stream such as the fact that the last infrastructure budget proposal provided almost nothing for maritime infrastructure. It was all for trucking and road ways.

I disagree with your dismissal. This wasn't a freak accident. This was a known risk that was predicted to occur after a similar incident 40 years ago and nobody stopped to invest resources to prevent it again. There's also more to be said about ship fuel and issues with it that could cause the engine malfunction if you actually watch this last video it is covered in that stream but in summary we took sulfur out of ship diesel for environmental reasons which has had a knock on effect of not dissolving particulates that build up in low grade ship diesel, namely plastic. There has been known issues of this causing problems and the Dali had just switched fuels at the time of its turn to the bridge. It could be argued that switching fuels over too early was a mistake as easily as it could be argued that environmental regulations caused the power failure.

Good luck with that.

King is a repub hero, there's no reason Floyd can't become a republican hero
at the very least, they're inclined to act bipartisan to celebrate the BLACKNESS and bootstrapiness of George, George, George of the fentanyl

Yeah, that post was in poor taste. If nobody lost their life maybe I could see this as funny in a ironic way. Another sign of the decay and collapse of the USA but 6 people just doing their job, making ends meat, have lost their lives over a freak accident. You really can't find humor in something like that. Especially over the fact that several families are going to be having Easter without a member of their family.
it is not making ends meat it is called making ends meet
do you work for a butcher or something

How do you manage to complete daily tasks if you're weeping like a fucking woman as soon as you roll out of bed?

I wonder how they will go about clearing it so they can reopen the channel fully? Presumably they will have to chop up the spans and move them, and parts are above and parts below the water. It’ll be interesting seeing how they approach it. Just chop it up and haul it out the way then chop it up smaller and take it out? What kind of kit is needed to do that kind of metalwork under water? Presumably a big payday for the commercial divers.
