Sweet Baby Inc. and the Steam Curator Group Conspiracy - The company that is responsible for the diarrheic video game writing.

i dont read them but i know that they get review copies before games release to the public, so their reviews are available before user reviews or youtube videos can be made.
Ya but so do random fuck youtubers and I consider them way more trustworthy. Like I get that they pre-date user reviews and such but, I don't get people who still read them???

I only ever saw redditors shill those sites. Many of them being coomers that would be happily consooming kotaku or pcgamer right now if they were less political. I think that's what they see it as, "real journalism". Ever since gamergate those sites were riding that reputation, grifting the gaymers telling them what they want to hear while rage baiting about sjws. Sort of like Tim Pool but for gaming. Nichegaymer is asking for 3$ monthly to post or view comments btw.

The trashing of Stellar Blade begins

I only trust game reviews from people who BOUGHT the fuckin' thing. Not from someone who was given a free game to get dick sucking press out of it. This is primarily one of the reasons why I stopped reading IGN. Their whole deal with Mass Effect 3 pissed me off to the point where I just didn't really care anymore. Not only did they have one of their journos get to be a character in the game, but they also banner advertised out of the ass over it, and then one of their male journos called us "entitled" for having very specific issues with how the ending to the game didn't do much to win anyone over and how specific choices didn't matter much in the long run. As much as I still love the original Mass Effect trilogy, the initial coverage of 3 was a really big stain on what was otherwise a medicore end to an awesome trilogy of games. Bioware tried to win back a lot of people with the DLC and the reworking of things with 3, but by then, I'd say a lot of the overall damage was done.

They've already edited it.

They edited it and it still doesn't make sense. What part is lacking in the design that would make one believe the designer has never seen a woman? They are being obtuse and it made them look retarded. They fixed that by being obtuse in a different way. They remain retarded.

What I love about this is the dude who they are making fun of, with the wife (a graphic artist) he works with:

Straight up living the dream man. Living the dream.
Sometimes you just like drawing fancy sexy costumes. Women who like that deserve to partner with good men who appreciate sexy costumes and women and have their work respected!

Can someone who actually reads video game review sites please explain this to me. Because I genuinely do not understand why you read them. Is it because I only like buy games off of steam or pirate them? Why do you read reviewers instead of user reviews, and even if you don't like user reviews, why not just watch some random fuck on youtube review it?

I really don't understand this 'industry'. I am not even joking or doing some sort of thing, I really do not get it.

User reviews can easily be gammed; it's why Steam has tried to combat review bombing over the years.
As for random fucks on YT; if I can be honest, they have the same problem as journalists, like injecting their own personal beliefs into the review or make a big point out of something irrelevant. And that doesn't even factor in the big YTers who have to rely on publishers giving them review copies in order for them to post a review as close to the release day as possible. I heard that Videogamedunkey got sponsored by Microsoft, called Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons a "stupid ass" & "boring ass game", then got the sponsorship instantly cancelled & video deleted. If you try to make a living off of reviewing games; you're basically at the mercy of publishers.

I don't read them. The people I knew that read used them long after GamerGate were either lefties, or people who didn't follow any of the drama. Usually both. Said people tended to be industry professionals, real and fake.

The fakes are the kind of people that think having gameindustry.biz on your bookmarks bar or in an open tab makes you a pro. The others seemed to assume Kotaku, IGN, and GameSpot were still the go to sites for how a game was recieved, and Jim Sterling and Extra Credits were still the voice of the gaming community.

Like you, I don't understand why. But my speculation is they're like boomers who know the TV lies to them, but get all their information from it because it's all they know.

And that journo would get cancelled and become yet another anti-game journo pundit. I feel the need to point that out every time he's brought up because it's funny to me.

It doesn't need to be designed by a woman or need a woman's approval.
Agreed. Maybe it should be retired as a point to bring up, but it does stop their "incel shut in who only knows women from their hentai figurines" argument cold.

You know, this Sweet Baby bullshit seems like it's devolving into weeaboo coomers and grifters trying their hardest to look less retarded than SJW's. Because Stellar Blade just looks like a Chinese bootleg of Near Automata with no appeal other than it is made for porn addicts looking to not get bullied for cooming 24/7.

I only trust game reviews from people who BOUGHT the fuckin' thing, blah, blah, blah
How about you don't waste your time with bullshit reviews. Look for walk through videos with no commentary. If the game interests you, pirate it and play it for a couple of hours, if you don't like it, uninstall it and move on while coming up with your own conclusions.

The grifters, especially the has beens, are leaping on this. I fully expect the gamergate "literally who" meme to make a return in some form or another.

That doesn't really work. Especially given recent trends like censorship/re-writes via localisation, censorship via update, things hidden on release day. And gameplay footage rarely covers things like control issues.

Most AAA slop isn't even worth pirating. You're still consooming the propaganda anyway. If you go indie, there's a lot of games, many of which aren't popular enough to make it on mainstream pirate sites.

The "do what SBI wants, shut up, and consoom product, but right wing!" argument. I hear the Quartering has turned to Jesus, maybe you should start there.

Don't trust Youtube reviewers either. A lot of them SAY they'll buy the product, but a lot of them do get review codes. They just don't disclose it.

And a lot of the time the writing isn't much better because it's done by some flavor of troon.

Reminder that it usually takes great autism to make an indie game with a small team, and the power of the autism-to-troon pipeline is very real.
