Voices of the Void is a job simulation game based on the game Signal Simulator, which was in turn based on the game SETI. In this game you are dropped into the shoes of Dr. Kel, a researcher for an unknown company that has tasked him to search for signals from space in a remote location in the Swiss mountains. Throughout the game the player will do various tasks such as maintaining the various machinery around the facility, processing and transferring signals and dealing with whatever beings lurk in the woods.
While this may seem like a relatively mundane game, what sets this apart from it's precursors is it's developer and fanbase.

The Dev

MrDrNose, or EternityDev is the creator of Voices of the Void. MrDrNose has a history of making simple indie games spanning several years, starting with Advanced Edcuation with Viktor Strobovski. If it wasn't obvious from the banner, MrDrNose is a Furry, and this transfers onto his work.
In the game there exists a race of aliens known as Arirals, these aliens are presented as an anthropomorphic hybrid between a Cat and a Fish. What makes them interesting and in this instance, disturbing is the fact that MrDrNose has gone into autistic detail about their biology, including describing how hermaphrodites exist in their race, along with them having three rows of breasts.

The Fans

Due to the developer adding all sorts of strange and almost fetishy content to the game, the game's fanbase has become a slow downward spiral of autism. Ranging from people obsessing over the aliens, to people obsessing over the "Kerfus" series of robots.

What do you think of this game? Should I add anything else to the OP?

The game has some incredible atmosphere and is really engrossing when it just being a spooky alien game, problem is they keep adding meme bullshit and retarded youtuber Bait that immediately ruins the mood it worked so hard to achieve. It has an great gameplay loop of working on signals, going out to repair satellites, get report codes and using extra time to investigate, its really great at rewarding you for putting yourself in scary situations. The first time I saw a creature scared the fuck out of me, when while work on signals I saw something on the radar circling the base really fast, so I went out side to look and saw the drone just running fast as fuck and immediately ran back into base and locked everything down.
The game can be so good if the dev would get out of there own way with all the silly bullshit and fetish cat aliens but it might be to late for that now. The scp teases are fine but that shit has been run into the ground so much I just try to ignore it.
The roadside picnic Easter egg is fucking great and should honestly be the farthest they push it so that VOTV can be an actual video game.

Real Kerfus is super fucking cute and he comes bearing snacks, how utterly marvelous!

I've always veered clear of the community, thanks for confirming my fears.

It's a bloody cosy game though, I'll forgive furry adjacent weirdness in a free passion project, besides it's only a little bit given all the many events and mysteries. Some of those 'larger' events were beautifully done in a way that I honestly wasn't expecting from a daft Signal Simulator fan project. He's taken it in it's own direction enough now that it's respectively it's own thing.

Plus it's comfy and I like the styling of the new base in the update too.

Goddamn I'll take it all back if we don't get behind that door in the bunker eventually though!

Kerfus is 100% based off a Chinese sperm collection robot.

Its a small little thing but I think its a interesting side note.
Holy shit yeah the front is 100% based on that.

Besides that, it all started when Carrefour Poland placed two autonomous BellaBot robots made by a Chinese company Pudu Electronics in two locations in Warsaw that would go around the store with PepsiCo products, with some custom voice lines added to it whenever someone would touch it, such as "you have warm hands" or "don't touch my ears".

It then became a worldwide phenomenon, and of course, the furry fandom took notice of it too and started making porn of it. It was painful to watch it unveil in real time.

Those frog eaters had no fucking idea what they have released onto this world with this one marketing stunt.

Also, note how the robot in-game is actually called "Kerfur", it's possible that Carrefour Poland might've copyrighted that name so the dev changed it when he found out. Before that it was "Kerfus", without the accent because what normal person puts diacritics on Latin letters. I'm definitely not normal.

There's also the Kerfur Omega robot, that's actually humanoid, and if you look up videos of VotV, you'll find out that 1) he does an arch when fixing servers as if getting ready for gay anal sex, and 2) the "breast size" of it can actually differ.

The biggest issue with this game is it's direct relation to this guy:

This ugly son of a bitch is mentally retarded due to being Sw*dish and he is deathly afraid of grey aliens. And he happens to be a Twitch streamer. And he streamed a game called Signal Simulator that made him piss and shit his pants many times and it was hilarious. And then the game got abandoned.

And then this Russian sperg came out of nowhere and made a copy of Signal Simulator with his autism injected into it. Obviously, that bald head fuck instantly started streaming the game and liked it a lot.

And the dev also watched the streams.

And updated the game accordingly to fuck with the dick drawer.

Do you see the problem here? This entire game and it's fanbase existence is thanks to this one guy, and it's not exactly natural or wise for a game to exist and be based on solely what one Twitch streamer likes or dislikes. And his VotV streams are still in demand, and he still enjoys the game.

With the rampant amount of degeneracy the dev is inserting into the game, like befriending Arirals and them feeding you "yogurt" at night, it's only a matter of time before the reason for the game's existence and success will be it's ultimate downfall. The moment the dev gets too cocky, adds some serious fetish content to his game, and Joey encounters it, and he dislikes it, and he already actively avoids troon shit, that's it, the dev's hopes and dreams for this project: shattered.

However it's good for us because we'll get to laugh as this one autistic Russian shot himself in the foot because he just couldn't keep it in his pants.

the only reason i know this exist is because Joel made a video about it

Oh and by the way I played the game and the Tutorial takes up most of the file size because there is a convoluted secrets hidden in it

there are like 5 videos on the channel that go through the entire tutorial secrets shits autistic af

I've seen gameplay for this game, but none of it really showed me what the point of the game was.
>record and sell signals for money and to continue game
>aliens show up, but they don't do anythings
>occasionally have nightmares
From what I saw you are never really in any danger other than not meeting a deadline for signals.

I saw a relatively normie streamer go back to this game multiple times, with mods and new content, and I still don't know what the point is.

I haven't watched all ~20 hours of gameplay, maybe I'm missing something. But skimming through or dipping into the stream while live, I never saw weird fetish stuff or anything really mundane. There was a bizarre garbage stacking mechanic, that let you make mini structures out of bags of trash instead of throwing them away; that's the most memorable thing I remember seeing.

The game has some good atmosphere. But its objectives of achieving some kind of extraterrestrial horror fall extremely flat, and it only works by playing off your fear of the unknown. Once you realize what you're dealing with, things rapidly drop off. You're dealing with:
- Wisps of various colors
- Steampunk Robots
- Cat Girls

Here's archive links to the dev's catgirl aliens.
Argemia—Dev's infallible catgirl OC
Arirals—Dev's Special OC catgirls
Here's a couple excerpts.
There are three genders of Ariral: male, female, and hermale. Hermales have both male and female reproductive organs, and are capable of impregnating themselves,
She was originally female, as MrDrNose had not created the concept of "hermale" then.
Truly a tour de force of modern worldbuilding.

The moment the dev gets too cocky
The dev already has. The gears are already turning. I regret not saving them at the time but iirc the dev openly bitches and expresses frustration about Joey constantly hiding in the base all the time. It started as a game inspired by Joel, dev wanted to insert his OC shit as it got more popular, he continued to leech off Joey for publicity, and now he's forgotten why he got any notoriety at all.

What makes it funnier to observe is just how base his cycle of dopamine chasing is. Aside from Joey giving his game publicity and him getting surrounded by yes men, he's more or less just obsessed with his special oc getting attention and fanart.

The game's tutorial is dogshit to the point that it fails to convey basic elements of what you're doing. Let that sink in.
Gameplay—Your objective is to get the daily signals requested of you. Doing this is how you get money and upgrade or buy things. The Dev added more features specifically because he didn't like Joel just sitting in his base doing work. So you have to go out and do maintenance.
Functionally—The game is basically a haunted house with the "scares" being the Dev's OC shit and SCPs. That's it. Getting signals and doing maintenance is essentially the "waiting game" that you play while you wait for another scp reference or catgirl to show up. Most players just don't know that's what they're killing time waiting for.

Gay furfag alien game in disguise psyop heavily shilled on /v/ and other websites. Seems to have replaced Andy and Leyley and Slay the Princess as the /v/ flavor of the month.

I saw some normie youtuber play it and it looked alright. But then an invisible alien starts feeding you yogurt while you sleep. It was weird because I thought it was meant to be spooky but that seems like creepy sex stuff. So I looked up what that was about and it turned out the invisible alien is actually a cloaked cat girl that feeds you yogurt while you sleep. So it's definitely weird fetish shit that completely ruins any atmosphere of spooky
