F-Zero 99 got another update. Mirror tracks are now a thing, and so far there's a whole knight league for them. Two of them are the ??? ones but slightly modified (e.g. no bajillion mines in Big Blue), and they now have yellow power orb markers on the tracks so you can just run through them to get orbs instead of smacking into things.

There's also classic mini prix, which is VERY good news, and now you can see the recommended challenges on the main menu. There's a special one now where if you use boost a certain number of times you get a special color boost flame. Also if you have the winter event spin, the color and spin effect have been seperated so you can have one or the other if you want. Spin effect also has jingle bells.

Don't encourage them. That will be like wanting Nintendo to release four of their CDi titles onto Switch Online. It doesn't matter if they were meme'd for eons, they are still hated upon which is why they were memes in the first place

virtual boy wario land wasn't anywhere near as bad as the CDi titles and I unironically would like to play it on my switch.

Yeah also there are balance changes, Golden Fox and Fire Stingray got nerfed and Blue Falcon and Wild Goose got buffed.

If you actually think this and aren't just saying it to get a rise out of people then you are very ignorant as to how fighting games work. Smash has an attack->block->throw system, like most 2d fighters, it has move priorities, i-frame times that vary to prevent infinites, and all of the standard fighting game modes (and most have been there from the start!). Its built like a fighting game and the game's director said as such when discussing his original pitch for the series on his youtube channel.

We're never getting another story mode like Subspace Emissary. Sakurai got butthurt that people were uploading cutscenes onto the internet, and has made it clear that he's never doing one of those again.

The brazen and insulting manner in which video game resellers conduct themselves is largely why I haven't bought any "retro" stuff in a decade. And I really would like to complete two of my sets of systems, but I'm not paying these prices. I can check yard sales over a huge region on any given weekend; I'll find what I want eventually.

The CDi games are terrible and weren't even made by Nintendo. Wario Land VB was made in house by R&D 1 who also made Wario Land 1-4 and the the 2D Metroid games and is one of the finest platformers ever released.
