I don't begrudge Nick's dislike of church, but his reasons are different from mine. My experience has been that Christian churches often subscribe to cult tactics like lovebombing, trying to isolate new or younger members away from their family, members getting way too involved in each other's personal affairs. It can be tough to root out without going for a while and by then you've wasted time and embittered yourself when it turns out to be toxic.

Nobody is stopping Nick or anyone else from reading and learning from the Bible on their own though. There are plenty of resources to get familiar with it if the prose and cultural context is tough to parse alone.

Love for God and his wisdom is inscribed in your heart not in some route mechanical ritual. He also doesn't have a ton of rules and regs. There are things we shouldn't do to each other and these should be self evident. The Golden Rule was the thing most Christians should have took to heart.

I'm not above offensive or racist jokes at all - they just need to be funny, because if they're funny, then there's a decent chance you'll get laughs out of even the people you didn't think you would. But if they're not funny, then that's when you get a really awkward situation where you're just embarrassed for them.

Nick and his "comedy" reminds me of some guys I was friends with for awhile. They would just say racist stuff 24/7, but it wasn't even funny or insightful at all. It was just them screaming "I HATE NIGGERS!!! I HATE JEWS!!!!!" thinking it was funny because they were being "super edgy." How you feel secondhand embarrassment for Nick when he tries to make jokes was how I felt for them.

Nick falls into doing things because it was wrong according to the morality he was taught. Augustine really was hard on the idea that certain actions done for whatever reason are not good. Oh, I'm way ahead of you. I haven't even really talked to Sean much, despite the fact I like what I see from Sean thus far. Alright I've finally got time to write up my monthly report (and eventually catch up on the thread, was his Easter show that worth talking about?) As always, numbers recorded by @Potatoherder compiled by me. I've also got plans to do what @Himedall All-seeing Waifu asked and try to sort out his streams by type, gonna try to get that done tonight. Let me know if I should make any changes to the categories. "Other" is just to be a catch all for streams like the Eric July copestreams, for example.


Anyways onto those March Madness numbers! We've got a total of 15 streams this year; not the most dramatic decline we've seen but it's still less than before.

For those of us who need visual aides, have the calendar version. He seemed to be much better at attending his Monday shows in the past, Nick's Garfield arc appears to have started at the end of February this year.



Onto our income losses, we're -$10,531 (76.7% decrease) compared to last year. It certainly makes me curious to see how much, if at all, topics matter.



And, since we're 1/4 through the year I'll tack on the Quarterly, no extra convenience charge. There's a $44,668 (a whopping 82%) decrease between 2023 and 2024, that's pretty rough. I hope he can still buy snacks for the bulls after the Taxman comes!
