You joke but sadly fundies literally believe this. The "spare the rod" line is one of their favs even though it supposedly is about guiding kids, not beating them (since shephards don't beat sheep with their rods).

The fundie child abuse guide linked to several child murders is even called "To Train Up a Child" (that's where blanket training comes from).

Evangelical fundies have a surprisingly low level of Bible literacy despite claiming to believe its the literal true history of the planet. These are the same people that insist halloween is bad because it's the Devil's birthday.

Do you think chucking a wobbly on kiwifarms of all places would help their predicaments any? Like I'm sure there are people who have it rough in say Hong Kong but if someone brought it up here they'd be told to fuck off, at best. Aren't there better places for you/them to get help? Why aren't you going there?

I mean if you really cared you'd focus your energy on helping them, not wasting time here. What do you expect people to do here? I can't do squat with abortion laws on the other side of the planet any more than you could take on Vlad putin (as an example). What people do here is, like I said, dig for drama. Maybe if there was details on an individual (or a specific group of individuals, like a cult: and afaik it could be a cult, not fundamentalists you're actually dealing with.) mayyyyybe something could be done. But that's about it.

This verse is actually used by the Pearls to justify their child abuse manual. I'm going to assume smacking babies for acting like normal babies and beating kids with plastic pipes wasn't the intent of that verse. I'm not a knife throwing expert, though.

No, I don't think those retards represent all Christians. I would hate that book even if it was written by someone who wasn't religious.
