Death is the biggest reason but once in a blue moon, one of them has an epiphany and gets offline, straightens up and flies right.

Chantal will inevitably die from some version of Death by Lifestyle. Frankly, I’m amazed her poor, abused body has hung on this long without precipitating a “lights on, sirens screaming, pedal to the metal”, seriously emergent trip to the nearest ER.

Her own refusal to deny herself a single craving has already cost her the entire reproductive system and a gall bladder.

By her own admission, she has completely uncontrolled diabetes, a massively fatty liver and enlarged heart. She’s already had 2 known episodes of blood clots in her lungs.

I’m going to again throw in my personal opinion that she has congestive heart failure, circulatory issues attributable to several of her health issues and we’ve previously seen she can at times develop nasty infections.

I suspect she’s within a few months of a major, life changing health emergency. Throw me rainbows but it’s possible that’s part of the reason she came home. If she becomes bed bound or otherwise disabled, Salah isn’t going to provide 24/7 care and she may be deluded enough to think her birth family will see to things. Maybe that’s floating around at a subconscious level?

Who knows but, (I’ve been wrong before), I think something dire is going to happen before the end of June.

As far as I know only NS has a monthly caregiver Allowance. There's federal tax credit, and Ontario has some caregiver credits mainly for caring for senior relatives, but there are tax credits not a salary. Via EI compassionate care Benefit you can get a max of like $638 a Week- but only for 15 Weeks(per 52 week period with at least 600 hours qualifying work credit in the year before), or if there is a significant „risk of death" that extends to 26 Weeks. That EI caregiver benefit is also intended either for critical injury/illness not chronic conditions like diabetes or really fucking fat; or a sudden drastic reduction in ability to do activities of daily living in a chronic condition which has basically become somehow acute; or end of life Care. It's also, most critically, for family members. Peeta isn't Chantal's family and most of these tax credits exclude spouses.

OHIP's home care is through their care partners(private businesses they pay the cost of) and Home and Community Care Support Services Staff, some random dude you dated once isn't going to be someone they pay to care for you.
The self-directed care they do cover that let's you basically pick anyone- qualified or not- is mainly for disabled children, or adults who become disabled due to TBI. They will consider it only for other adults in what they refer to as »extrodinary circumstances«. This is usually to allow for someone within the same ethnic or religious group if no partner providers are available in the area, say First Nations in rural northern Ontario, or an (actually) muslim woman who can't find a female, especially a female fellow child rapist worshipper caregiver in a rural area. If there's a mental disorder that the adult has that makes it's extremely stressful or dangerous for strangers to administer care, etc. It's not I'm fat with diabetes and dealing with the consequences of that diabetes and want someone I know. Even if Chantal tried to play the muslima card it wouldn't get her a male Caregiver, and there's certainly muslim and female Caregivers in her area of Ontario.

So what path do you think there is which ends in Peetz being paid to care for her that government covers the cost of? You said it as point-blank a statement of fact, so what do you know that I don't.

I believe she has said that at one point she worked in a Red Cross blood bank (Chantal has also claimed that she, Chantal volunteered with Red Cross at one point), and later in a aged care facility, which is the last I’ve heard of Schmee’s work.

Her mother has also been in a number of MLM’s flogging things like teas and candles.
