I tried playing this a few months back but there was something off about the combat I didn't like. Survival horror isn't my thing and then looking up the ending conditions and it changes on how peaceful and quick or murderous and methodical made me not want to play it.
For Atelier, I remember coming across one of her animations in September of 2023 and then getting around to trying the game out in December when I was less busy. As a marketing tool, making a small animation like that that can easily be shared around did more exposure for the game than just releasing it on steam.
As for the community, you could say that yuri fans are highlighting Ariane and Elster's relationship and how that's doomed when Ariane is dying of radiation poisoning from the ship's reactor breaking down. The tragic love story is what appeals to them and how they ignore the context the story is set in. But there's the added aspect of the trans people. They're self inserting as they always do and feel the need to be "represented" with the relationship they wish they could have. That's why they're so rabid about any art that isn't to their canon pairing. Having the reddit and discord being run by GAY COMMUNITY people doesn't help either.
I'm not suprised that the community is as demented as it is. Seems par for the course with any gay fiction these days.

I feared it might be a real game patch (you never know in clownworld) but no, it's just an autistic name for the NSFW rule change in the subreddit lol. I've played a bit of this game, it's pretty interesting and doesn't seem particularly woke in any way but I'm sure it attracts all the "muh psychological analog horror" zoomer retards and crazy queers who attach their identities to the game's plot.

Probably the best video about the game I've found so far. (Same guy also does a fantastic breakdown of the Doom horror mod myhouse.wad)

I really hope some people from Beauty parlor find this thread eventually, I feel like they would have know how and knowledge that could really help.
I really like PowerPaks video, finished it after I finished the game. PowerPak seems like someone who could become a Political Sperg in the right situation, but hasn't yet.
Currently still getting screen caps off twitter, sadly I don't think I'll be able to have a section about the current Drama given how much content was deleted before I started taking screenshots, but I'll definitely make a Section about Key Players on Twitter and the general attitude of the Twitter Community once stuff calms down.

I played this game like last year and thought it was pretty decent. Really cool to see troons randomly decide it's theirs now so that they can ruin it.

It's sad because in today's world you really can't. It doesn't matter what it is, if there is politics, troon shit, or niggerdom involved, it doesn't matter how much you try to ignore it, it will be thrown in your face as often as possible. They took away having a general industry that took its work and itself seriously unlike the bourgeois lasse faire bullshit we see today.

I've played it. Funny thing is that it is a decent game. Everything in it from the puzzles to the combat is very much like the old Resident Evil or Silent Hill games.
But, as soon as the lesbian romance came up, I knew exactly how the online community would react. Funny thing is I haven't searched for anything related to the community surrounding this game, but there's still enough bleedover into other topics that it's clear what the community wants this game to be. These huge fanbases inevitably start begging these companies to turn everything into an erotic sex escapade and the industry eventually starts focusing on that aspect and it ultimately ruins the experience.
As far as the Discord is concerned, anything with a NSFW channel is pretty much destined to become a haven for sex solicitations. Eventually minors will be involved and that's when everything will go to hell.

As someone who played this game back on release date and joined the subreddit when it had less than 100 users (i posted my own theories and a few memes), it's both impressive to see how fast the fandom grew but also sad how cringy it got. The subreddit was 99% fan theories (is it time loop? Is it a dream? Who is Isa? Is Falke like Elster or ariane?) but then those fanimations OP mentioned got tons of upvotes and attracted more fanarts/fanimations/tourists so subreddit boosted very fast and then 99% posts were lesbian "memes". so i stopped visiting years ago.
I loved the game but even back then it was already kinda overrated. People not shutting up about it being the best oldschool horror game in the last decade and how big youtubers should play it etc. It's still full of fanboys but mostly cause there are so few good indie horror games..
Altho it's ironic how the game's reputation argueably got worse as it's now "THE SPACE LESBIAN GAME" making it harder to recommend for actual horror game fans.

It's strange because the "lesbian" stuff is implied but never shown; which begs the question about whether or not the characters actually are lesbians in the first place.
Further complicating this is the fact that Elster is a robot and only looks like a female. It's strange to think that one of these robots could even have sex.
Ultimately, one could also walk away from the game convinced that Elster and Ariane were just really close female friends and there was nothing sexual at all about their relationship.
I haven't looked that far into it, but since communities like these like to sexualize everything, the conversation becomes entirely too muddied.
I'm not so sure this is spelled out by the game. Then again, I haven't played it since last year. Only part I really remember was Elster celebrated Arian's birthday in a dream sequence, they dance a bit before the pair of them fell asleep side-by side on a couch:
There seemed to be more of a "find my humanity" kind of theme going on here, much like Data from Star Trek. Less the lesbian attraction and more, "here's a human being who acknowledges me as a person despite the fact that I'm a robot." In other words, there was depth to it. These were not characters looking to excite a fetish or explore their sexual feelings with each other.
Best case is you can say they kissed, but even that could be just a sign of deep affection without sex being the summation. Feels more to me like these were two characters, alone and in want of some kind of human interaction amidst a galactic war going on around them and they found brief respite in each others arms.
