I don't see why a story can't challenge values. The problem isn't that media has political values, it always will to some extent. The problem is they tell you the values they need and never try to engage with the people consuming it. They also make 0 attempt at accepting any alternative views having value.

Any time I have been in an open game lobby with a black person, it was the black person calling everyone else nigger. That said, the whole "girl power! Girls can do what boys can do!" nonsense always felt forced, and I can see how rightoids could paint it as propaganda. They were also like Taylor Swift or Avatar 2 where they never seemed as popular as the mass media tried to make them out to be.

Spice girls were popular here and it felt organic, or at least more than the forced shit we see nowadays. Plus, they were hot.
'Girl power' was a great blessing for men who went partying during the era of women who grew up on girl power, they were fun and chill people.

Good point about hot. All of the Spice Girls had a variation of slim body figures: Posh Spice the skinny body type, Sporty Spice the toned athletic body type, and the rest had body types in between. None of them were fat. Maybe Baby Spice and Ginger Spice were a bit chubbier if you really wanted to be critical.
Even Sporty Spice, or if you prefer, Nigger Spice proved that Black Girls can be attractive. A world of difference between her and the Lizzos and other fat fucks of the music industry.
I think we might as well give up on the world if Woke Spice Girls was a thing.

Sporty Spice was the tough athletic chick who would try and kick your arse at sports,
Ginger Spice was the big-titted confident chick
Baby Spice was the girl-next door cute blonde
Posh Spice was the hot posh-totty who loved a bit of rough
Nog Spice was the working-class lass who, despite being non-white, didn't feel like forced diversity.
All of them went on to success for different reasons; Baby spice and Sporty spice host radio shows, Ginger does work-out videos, Nog Spice had kids with Eddie Murphy, Posh Spice went on to fashion. And they've all aged like fine wine.
Best of all, they all had relatable personalities, seem decent women and never pushed the agenda beyond "you're a woman, enjoy it". It didn't take anything away from men or other groups. It was just "we can enjoy it too, so do so!".
When we compare that to Lizzo, taylor swift, these SBI fucks. It's never them giving messages of enjoying their group, their race or their agenda, it's always FORCE their group, FORCE their race and FORCE their agenda over others while taking away from them.
TL;DR - The Spice Girls celebrated who they were, they believed variety was the spice of life. Nowadays groups take away from what we have, piss down our backs and tell us it's raining.
