Alejandro, being a lawyer, should know better but his troonish hubris and lack of boundaries makes him think he's protected from whatever rights violation he's supporting that day because The Law is his creature and he's an extension of it's power. Hard to believe his appearance before the House Oversight Subcommitte on "Confronting Violent White Supremacy" happened in December of 2022. I had to rewatch the highlights and savor those gigantic poster board tweets, visual aids of Alejandro's visual AIDS, which had him squirming and then sullenly claiming free speech and the right to protest... despite the entire point of the hearing being the vilification of those two very things (and white people LOL).

As you point out, he assumes bad faith no matter how reasonable or innocuous the behaviors of his ideological enemies are and then demands the most lenient interpretations for his own, but I guess after his accidental self vaporization at the hearing, a public debate seems like a threat, a trap even.
