Idk the first two seasons weren't bad and it was peak 2010s edginess. Never made it past season 3 but from what I understand that was a blessing in disguise.

I saw it and wondered wtf is this show? and watched some of it.

I feel the same way. I was never into MLP as a kid (because it was too girly for my liking) but when the first two seasons of FiM came out I adored it because it had shit like dragons and changelings (also because I was a huge fan of PPG and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends) but lost interest by S3/EQ.

Also, I'm not surprised by any of this. Didn't Turkey Tom make a whole video about Brony degenerates?

I had a weird experience with MLP because I'm into transformers and there used to a surprising overlap in the fan bases for a hot minute (probably on account of the Hub and them both being Hasbro properties and then IDW did that comic crossover where Starscream wanted to enslave these fucking horses) so I got a lot of MLP shit through osmosis

I remember watching this because a bunch of people from my clique were talking about it. At first, I was a little taken aback that people my age (about 16ish) were talking about My Little Pony and unironically enjoying it because we were all men because I already had per-conceived notions in my head about My Little Pony and what that shit was about, but then I watched the show and while I didn't personally get invested with it, I still kind of respected it as a decent kids show that I think both parents and their daughters would love. Thank god I never got invested in it because holy shit the fanbase was something to behold.

Mando went out of his way to befriend and acted creepy around Applebloom's VA years ago which led to him being called Mandopedo by /mlp/. Fast forward a few years, and Mando has moved onto the FNAF fandom (another fandom full of children, shocker), and apparently e-cheated on his wife with a 17 year old fan. There's a few leddit threads about it if you Google "mandopony allegations" and "mandopony paedophile" if you want to read a bit more in-depth.

Regarding blackgryph0n, he literally married sweetiebell's VA recently. He's 34, she's 24, but they've been associating with each other for around 10 years at this point, meaning they've been "friends" since she was about 14/15 and he was in his mid 20's. Make of that what you will.

I wouldn't be too surprised if these were dead subs. I've seen a number of Brony channels that are in the 100k to 1 million range, but when you look at their actual videos they're generally in the low 4-5 figure range with views in the recent years.

During the fandom's peak, a lot of Bronies had accounts that were solely dedicated to interacting with the fandom, likely their last vestige of sanity trying to segregate their fan shenanigans from their normal online presence. As interest in the fandom dwindled, they'd slowly stop using their fan accounts, but they wouldn't always delete them. Couple this with the fact that Google merging YT accounts into people's gmail accounts, which made it annoying for non-gmail users to log into their accounts.

Now if there's a noticable drop in subs as a result of this news, I would be very surprised.

I'd go far enough to admit that I liked the show, but most of my experiences with it were through babysitting my younger cousins while I was still a teen. I kept up with it enough to actually have conversations with the kidlings about the episodes they watched between visits, and I can appreciate the fact that the writing didn't make my brain leak out my ear.
