Attempting to bomb a judicial position (which usually a state AG is, though it depends on the state constitution) is treated more harshly by judges because it's targeting one of "their own." If you target a judicial officer, every other judicial officer sees that and thinks "fuck you." Plus it's presumably going to be tried in an Alabama federal court, subject to review in the 11th Circuit—two of the more conservative judiciaries in the country. This guy is fucked.
