In the last days of the Soviet Union you could basically get away with murder, because the cops wouldn't care. Poor investigations or completely dropped cases. It's a combination of two laws

Squatting is designed if you go find a plot of land that's not being used and stay there for X amount of time, it becomes your land. It's a very old legal concept, designed so that if you do something like plop down a cottage in a forest clearing somewhere and someone shows up 3 generations in claiming it's their land, you can go "no, it's ours now." It's NOT what they're doing, but colloqueally "living on someone's property without knowledge or permission" is called Squatting now.

Tennants rights are designed to protect legal tennants from abuse, especially during legal disputes. For example, your landlord can't try and force you out of a lease he doesn't want to break / can't break by just cutting off the power and water to the building and forcing you out.

Some NGO discovered that if they just walts their asses into houses or apartments when someone doesn't notice, they can then claim to be tennants even if they aren't. Sometimes this entails faking a lease, and a lease being fake is a legal question, which means you're a tennant until the courts can figure it out -- and the courts are backed up for years at this point.

So if you want to steal a house, just move in to an empty one. The owner will eventually notice, but unless he notices before you actually do it, you become a tennant, and then the owner has to go through the eviction process. A process that's intentionally made as difficult as humanly possible for landlords under the guise that there's a power disparity and they must bear the burden. As mentioned this is an organized effort at this point, likely by some Antifa-adjacent Marixst NGO or a George Soros linked NGO. They're specifically "educating" wetbacks and other illegals in how to do so, which we know because at least one of them was so fucking retarded he went on TikTok and spilled the beans for clout.

There's also been evidence that these people are intentionally doing this in order to lower property values and force home sales to Blackrock. They move in, utterly destroy a house, and then the owner can choose to either spend $100,000+ to fix it or sell at a loss (but not a $100,000 loss) to Blackrock, who will be able to do the repairs at a fraction of the cost due to economies of scale.

So yeah, as @The Last Stand said, you will own nothing and like it.

Squatters Rights ultimately don't have anything to do with it, as this is just colloqueally named Squatting. What needs to happen is massive jail sentences for people doing this, as well as a fast track for landlords who discover this happening -- if you can't prove you paid the landlord rent, you shouldn't count as a tennant.

One solution I saw was a group in California. They were a bunch of very large, angry construction workers who offer a Squatter Removal service. What they do is arrange a formal inspection of the property -- which landlords have the legal right to do with a 24 hour notice, even if the "tennants" are illegal squaters. Then, they enter the property and "fix problems." Problems such as removing every door in the building per the landlord's specifications, or replacing each door with solid wooden barracades, blocking off entire segments of the house -- the "tennants" can't do anything about this as the inspectors are merely restoring the house to the owner's specifications.

If locked out, they simply break down the doors, again, legal as it's an inspection and owners have the legal right to inspect property at will. Most videos I've seen have had them board up or replace all the windows and doors -- again, landlord's specifications and the "tennant" cannot complain -- or empty the building of any property for better access to perform their "inspection." Inspectors are also, apparently, able to refuse access to the building for non tennants -- so if the "tennant" doesn't have a lease, or the inspectors claim the lease is fake, then they don't have to let the squatters back in or give them the new keys to the property.

Still expensive, but they can basically harass the Squatters until they leave. Remember, they can do this with a 24 hour notice. They can give said notice every single day, which means they can return, every single day, and do it over and over again, until the Squatters fuck off.
