The USA atmosphere around patriotism currently could probably be seen as an era similar to the immediate aftermath of the Vietnam War. Just fatigue, malaise and a sense of how pointless all the fighting was, except this time people are even more distrustful of the American government. There's also the feeling that besides politicians wanting to use soldiers for cannon fodder like in the past, they may just hate you for having the wrong sexual orientation or skin color now. The military also has its own fair share of problems.

There really isn't much to feel to some sense of national pride over currently when it comes to getting involved in distant conflicts. Some may fall for pro-war propaganda if push comes to shove but in this current environment not many will.

Nobody in a red state considers the United States a legitimate or free country and hasn't for at least 4 years, if not 6.
The blue areas despise the United States as the villain of all history.

There's a reason the military is considering fucking killer robots: they can't get anyone to sign up to defend their shitpile.

The rules of safety and infrastructure are written in blood and will be reaffirmed by blood. Part of this is DEI and part of this is people generally studying useless bullshit in school so there's just an overall lack of talent.

Add in the fact that most of the public and private sectors are blatantly corrupt without punishment and eventually enough shit stacks up for a failure cascade.

You end up with more useful people when being useful is a necessity for a successful life.

Half the shit Israel does is because for the most part they have the US Military on a fucking leash. Of course we're gonna get involved; Israel is the only thing you'll see both sides of the government readily agrees on. The border, infrastructure, a thousand other internal social concerns, do a big fucking stage play about who's in the right; anything involving Israel, and we call upon the Mandate of Heaven to ensure they are taken care of.

That isn't just "humanities", either.
With the exception perhaps of medical, all college education is on "theory" and a graduate will be utterly useless for between 12 and 18 months while they learn the ropes on an actual job.

Frankly, that's most jobs. Medical is no exception. Residents are retarded people, and new paramedics kill people all the time.

But most degrees, humanities or otherwise, will never actually do anything useful.

Congrats on your BA in business. You gonna start a business? No? Gonna be a Business Analyst for JPM or Morgan Stanley? That's cool, that's a pathway to bullshit corporate project management. Your job could be replaced by a half decent dry erase board.
