The female Custodians are the first thing in a line of just bad shit happening, like plenty have said before in this thread, its only a matter of time until they introduce female Space Marines, destroying one of the reasons that made them appealing, at least to me. Because of this and just knowing and anticipating the coming fuckery I've just become really apathetic with the hobby, I don't feel like I want to really interact with it much more outside of the stuff that I already have. Are there any other cool tabletop war games, ones that focus on large scale war? I've been looking at Black Powder Red Earth 28mm since it looks like fun close quarter combat type of stuff similar to Kill Team.

You know if you guys are lazy about it your "alt 40k" can be very simple, you just dont use any of the lore after after 7th edition then. There you are all happy then right you can either use older edition rules or OPR, etc.

The issue is writing new lore to even have people interested in it. Will people go full petty? Have Guilliman die on life support, Have the mechcanicus find Cawl and execute him leaving him as a footnote heretek, and to not focus on forwarding the narrative? Will all primaris equipment get turned into what people wanted and its just new marine armor or we remove primaris marines/their equipment entirely? What kind of campaigns will people try to make in an effort to not push the narrative?

Spectre miniatures has a tabletop gaming set in the modern times, they just did a whole range refresh and switched to plastic. Bolt Action is also decent and it’s set in WW2. I have spectre first starter kit which was metal minis of seals and jihadis with the BPRE models before they went on their own design.

Checked out Spectre and they're pretty much exactly what I'm looking for when it comes to miniatures now. Their Criminal Element stuff is exactly the type of shit I'm into, thanks for the recommendation.

You're thinking of Astartes. Custodes have actually never had the details of how they're made explained, they aren't made with geneseed and it’s never been said female custodes don't exist. They've only even had rules for 4 editions. This is another good example of how the people getting mad over this don't even know the basics.

I feel like the solution for awhile has been for fans to create their own shit divorced from the wokies but it's a pretty limited range of stuff you can do depending on what the IP is. The AI stuff is intriguing but not quite there yet.
