Navy SEALs, Delta Force, and SOCOM general - The most "Special" groups in the U.S. Military

At the risk of sounding melodramatic, all of the evidence about their abilities is very disturbing. If we get into a real war I really think every single Army SOF operator would die within the first few months. It should be a case study in echo chambers and narcissism.
Well thats the thing, they arent infantry units. They are guys you send into a situation where you know 90% of the situation; how many bad guys, what their equipment is, what they setup is etc. all on top of having the very best support on speed dial. These guys are not at all trained for assaulting a random objective you know nothing about other than "theres some guys over there".

I don't agree. They are infantry units. A lot, if not most, of Delta are Ranger qualified (which the main elite school for small unit tactics in the Army). And part of the job of the infantry is to know how to assess the capabilities of the enemy while they fight. Delta integrated armor QRFs and ISR after the Mogadishu disaster in 1993, but ultimately they are infantry, and recon and assessment is a basic part of infantry work. You know, the OODA loop and all that jazz, that it is taught to most NCOs.

Add 30 more pounds and indoor sunglasses and you've got a Ralph clone :diddler:
Ahh, Jeez. Kyle is teaching cops how to train for School shootings :stress: Will he teach them how to collapse in a drug fueled panic attack while looking for the shooter?

General Fenton and a West Virginia Senator speaking to an empty room about the value of Special Forces in building relations internationally and their capabilities. Which may I remind you, worked very well in Afghanistan or in Pakistan where Bin Laden was hidden.

I think SOCOM can smell budget cuts and a trim as LSCO is on the horizon and SOCOM is whack, and their approach don't work homie. By the way, as I'm typing this comment, the video has less than 300 views.

Awkward. Chris Moyer is friends with Kris Paronto and knows the truth about Benghazi. Bob Poras was in GRS and presumably knows the truth about Benghazi as well. And as we know, Brent is friends with Tate Jolly. I guess the Delta grift conquers all.

"How much of the profits of the bourbon go back to first responders?"
"There's no set amount. We do what we can do."

Dude, bro, friendo... 😑

Moral of the story is long live the grift and start the day with bourbon.

Tom Satterly went full boomer and strangely used a rat cartoon? BMJ reference?

Now, not to bring politics into this. You might agree or disagree on the help to Ukraine or Israel, that's not the point. What surprises me is his thought process.

He doesn't think in terms of strategic alliances or geopolitics of NATO or the Middle East (the place he fought most of his career) and the role of the US in maintaining a global international order (again, if it's right or not; that's another topic)

If taxes are too high for Tom, then fuck the world, the US should not do anything. No comment on his participation on GWOT, one of the biggest wastes of money in US history.

And I love the anti-government "your wages are being garnished, and you are being tracked for this." DUDE, BRO, OLD FART, you were the US Army premier hit squad, and probably sent more than a few people to Guantanamo or a Black Site. And now you are complaining that you'll be tracked and just have "wages garnished"?

Better to love kill once a lot and learn to hate paying taxes than never to learn at all.

If he gets any more liquored up before he does those endorsements his next one is going to look like this:

Delta/ST6 are scalpels, a regular infantry unit is a cleaver. They both kick in doors but kick in doors for vastly different reasons under vastly different circumstances.

I understand what you mean, but after GWOT and the Patriot act, I think it got to a point where more SOF were getting KIA than actual infantry because they were so overused around 2007 (don't quote me, but I think that was the year). We'll see their new role and how they evolve after GWOT, but right now, their job security is on the line. Wyman Howard shrunk the SEAL squadrons and Delta, well, I don't know, but I assume they aren't doing too well if Morgan, Pranka, Moyer, Jolly and Tucker are some of their biggest influencers.

Special operations don't work because that's not how insurgencies work whatsoever you have to understand why the other person wants you dead to begin with and the reason the Taliban wanted us dead in Afghanistan is because we're trying to turn the kids gay and disrespecting their entire culture and saying it's completely inferior to our international man on man **** culture.
It was really easy to deal with left wing extremists in West Germany you simply arrest the annoying teenage wannabe revolutionaries and that's the end of it because West Germany at the time was perfectly functional.

There's one other way of dealing with insurgency we would call it Soviet style where you basically shoot every single person involved then shoot Ebony buddy tangibly related to the insurgency and continue on until it stops the problem with this method is you really can't claim to be the Liberator when you're just going around shooting random people also really doesn't work in a country that's more mountainous then Estonia or that you do not have full control over

there's another strategy find a competent local leader who will be semi autonomous and be your guy in the corner we were doing this in Vietnam with the Prime Minister but we overthrew media coup de tar because of all those stupid pictures of Buddha setting themselves on fire because he took a very hard stance against Buddhist extremist groups.

The Taliban also did not need infrastructure to function because they were not an actual government or really a military a normal military slash government needs the infrastructure intact in order to carry out their plans to collect taxes etcetera etcetera it also doesn't help that or ally was literally giving lots of weapons to the Taliban thanks Pakistan

On the topic of casualties among SOF, the Navy SEAL Foundation maintains a list of all NSW personnel who have died post 9/11, not limited to combat deaths. If I'm not mistaken, only 6 SEALs from the conventional SEAL Teams have died from being shot during the entire GWOT. So either a)they weren't engaged in much combat (unlikely) b)they just happened to be exponentially luckier than every other SOF unit (unlikely) or c) despite online rumors, they are the most proficient at small unit infantry tactics.

LMAO, I recognize this patch. It is a voice line from the video game "Insurgency: Sandstorm".

At 0:28 seconds of the Vid, the spec ops voice line says it. Pranka can't even come up with original cool lines.

@Finnish Air Force What David is asking is literally the plot of Ghost Recon Wildlands. I like how Brian said "When they see the men with green eyes, they are going to shit themselves." Because that worked so well in other countries in the Middle East. And it's not like Mexicans don't have access to NODs. It's not the 1970s
