Yeah, I know, I am just thinking what else they can do. Pre-GC going to be quite a bit of work and thus less likely. DS and GBA are in a similar boat, needing to be built from the ground up.You do know TTYD is getting a remake next month, right? And last year we got a Gamecube remaster + two ports. And we’ll definitely get Prime 2 Remastered early next year at the latest, but they could shadow-drop it next Direct and I wouldn’t be surprised.
That just leaves GC, Wii and 3DS. Wii is hard to see much else given how much there already has been ported over. The rest is either Wii branding, or titles very similar to things already on Switch. 3DS is something I already gave my thoughts on.
For a quick look, so far we have:
NES
- Famicon Detective Club
- Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening
- Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow - Let’s Go games
- Super Mario RPG
- Super Mario 64 - Super Mario 3D All-Stars
- Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team
- Advanced Wars 1+2
- Mario vs Donkey Kong
- Metroid Prime
- Pikmin 1+2
- Super Mario Sunshine - Super Mario 3D All-Stars
- Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door
- Pokémon Diamond & Pearl
- Trace Memory (Another Code)
- Super Mario Galaxy - Super Mario 3D All-Stars
- The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword
- Kirby’s Return to Dreamland
- Xenoblade Chronicles
- Another Code R
- Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon
- Miitopia
- Brain Age: Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training (DS)
- Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics (DS)
- Big Brain Academy: Brain vs Brain (Wii)
- Super Smash Bros Ultimate (N64, GC, Wii, 3DS, Wii U)
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (SNES - Wii U)
- Mario Party Super Stars (N64)
- Fire Emblem Engage (NES, SNES, GBA, GC, Wii, 3DS)
Currently GameCube and Wii are tied for the most remakes/rereleases, while N64 and SNES have the least. The Switch and by extension 2, seem to be the ultimate Nintendo systems in many ways, so I believe Nintendo is going to try and have all their biggest titles on them in some shape or form.
