Man lights himself on fire outside courthouse during Trump trial: reports​

A man appeared to light himself on fire outside a New York City courthouse on Friday where a jury was being chosen for the criminal trial of former President Donald Trump, according to multiple reports.

The incident happened as reporters were gathered outside of the courthouse to cover Trump’s trial, CNN reported. On-air, reporter Laura Coates said it appeared that a man had set himself on fire.

Emergency crews rushed the man away on a stretcher, The Associated Press reported. Their condition was not immediately known.

The incident happened a short while after a full panel of 12 jurors and six alternates was chosen to deliberate in Trump’s hush money trial. Opening statements in the case are expected to start on Monday.

This is why I strenuously object to setting yourself on fire as a form of protest.

He should have just started a youtube channel where he got blackout drunk while ranting about how the troles are losers every night. Eventually he could start working his political ideas in, subtly conditioning his trolls to spread his message.

Short term it will depend on how much he breathed in and if there is any lung trauma. Long term infections the bitch. It’s hard to judge from that fuzzy picture, beyond noting he appears conscious and alert. They haven’t put him on oxygen yet. And he has enough feeling and motor control to want to keep his arms up like that. if he didn’t pour the accelerant straight onto his skin, and instead poured it on his clothes and lit them, it might not be as bad as we would think. Most clothing provides an astonishingly effective fire barrier for a few seconds. If they put him out fast enough he might survive.
