I'm unironically starting to believe that kiwifarms is probably the last safe place on the internet. Think about it.
Kiwifarms promotes:
- Using a unique username
- Using a completely different email address
- A whole thread about internet safety written by Null
- Never revealing any information about yourself
That's just from the top of my head as well. Yet all the "safe" websites and apps like discord, twitter, and even youtube to some degree don't even mention about internet safety.

I agree with what you're saying, but I see it in an opposite way. Kiwifarms is one of the last places on the Capital I Internet that acknowledges the inherent lack of security and rules of the Internet. The things you list aren't unique to the the farms or Null, you should be doing those things everywhere. If Null suddenly troons out and turns on the farmers, the safety conventions you listed will still protect your privacy. The farms isn't especially safe, it just tries to remind you that nowhere is particularly private or safe.

How do you even steal an online message? It's not like actual tangible mail that can be stolen from someone. Most servers are public, anyone on a private server or DMs can screenshot or archive each others messages and I don't think that really qualifies as stealing now does it? It would be the same as someone taking copies or photos of each others correspondence.

Because kids today in general have no interest in understanding how the Internet works, have grown up without the notion of "don't talk to strangers" and literally think that "oh it's a private server" means it's double-secret-probation secure and nothing will ever get out. Same goes for these retard journos, who either aren't technical and really believe that a bot scraping messages (either in a public channel or because it got the invite link) is "stealing muh private info!" or go with it out of convenience because Kiwi site bad.

The reality is what those of us who are older have said time and again: if it's on the Internet it is there forever, and it will be seen. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but eventually.
