That's the happy ending, which goes completely against how Leanna was for 5 years until her final Final Fantasy video. She always over shared and was smug about it, just like how Dave is.
I don't buy she suddenly changed.
Odds are she was cheating for a while and knew she would be hated, more than she already was, and they agreed to not speak of each other. Phil has also abided by that for the most part.
I'm FAR from a Leanna defender - I always thought she was annoying and her voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard - especially in the early days, as she took a lot of Phil antics and made it her own. Also, let's not forget her starting a fight with his fans, once things got too hot, she ran back to Phil and he said "Okay, y'all wanna disrespect Leanna? Well, guess what??? Sub only mode." Was she a dick to his fans? Yes. That said, there is a quote I live by: "Change is a part of life, progress is optional."
What started it? Her getting a mature adult job. She saw what healthy and romantic relationships looked like, along with how people are, and what the expectations of what life is supposed to be. She saw the path ahead and it was this: do I keep on the current path with Phil, who doesn't want to do anything except eat and play video games, or...do I get rid of this overweight child who expects me to cook his fat ass dinner when I was sick? I'm willing to bet money she told her co-workers that, they pulled her aside and went, "Uh, dude: Phil is toxic."
Also, my favorite piece of lore was when she invited friends over to the WAkhando and instead of Phil going downstairs to meet and mingle, he stayed in his mature adult office and played video games.
I don't think she all of a sudden "changed overnight." That's not how it works. It's a gradual process of growing and progress, which Leanna did.
Do I think she cheated? No. I think she had enough of Phil's bullshit, stacked as much cash as she could, and played the long game, until she could financially get the hell out of dodge, and leave the pigpen with a new lease on life.
From current Leanna pictures, she looks happy and I hope she continues to strive toward her goals. I think she wants to move on with her life and her life with Phil, as a learning lesson, and realizing she did fuck up a lot as someone that was still figuring life out. Hell, she was 18 when she appeared on stream and between the age of 18 to 24, you're in that weird phase in life where you're figuring things out and still holding onto things from your early to mid teenage years. I'm NOT excusing her behavior, far from it, but I do think she realized she was a piece of shit to people for no reason, and realized that something had to change. Do I think she's changed? I would like to think so, but again, I don't know Leanna like that. I can just go off of pictures and updates she chooses to show about her life. She looks happier and that's all that matters. She's happy and away from Philly cheesesteak.
Phil, on the other hand, sweet Jews for Jesus! Dude looks ROUGH for 42. He could easily pass for damn near his late 50's, but the life of gin and pulling Hogans takes a huge toll on a man. No matter how many time he tells everyone he "loves life", he's "never been happier.", you don't have to be a body language expert NOT To see the man is miserable and he questions what happened in his life: one moment, he was winning tournaments - the FYE tournament - being the FGC's ATM, John, Howard, and Leanna...and the next, he's married to a roommate who sleeps in a different bedroom because of Phil's "snoring", sure Phil and who wakes him up? Jasper. Khat wants NOTHING from Phil except to eat Doordash and to have a free room and board, while working her part time job that stresses her out after working 12 hours a week.
Yet, Phil will claim he's happy. Uh, one of them is happy and it ain't Dave, that's for sure.
