So then what exactly does being a "therian" mean? Even basing on Alex's own behavior he just pretends he's a wolf/fox/whatever. So what then did he "actually say?"
Here's the thing that baffles me about Alex, this seems to be what he actually believes. I've never seen anyone who believes this shit that wasn't a massive attention-whore or severely autistic, but Alex displays enough self-awareness about himeself and his scenario that it seems he can placed somewhere between the two.
