I think it's mostly this, but not just the troons specifically as much as the left in general. This is obviously speculation, but I suspect he's felt betrayed ever since he lost the election and wasn't hailed as being the truest leftist progressive savior he sees himself as. His resentment has only grown as time went on and other people started calling him out on not being as much of a "man of the people" as he likes, plus poking fun at him for a number of other poor takes.

I think John's always been more of a typical conservative dude deep down. He only started LARPing on the left because, for a time, all you really had to do to get praise/attention was claim to be a victimized woman. Now that the bar is raised in favor of troons getting that praise/attention, he's in a rough spot validation wise. I don't think he'll actually go full right or anything, but at the very least, he's showing (and has been showing) for years that he's not actually progressive. I don't know if he's much of anything aside from selfish and attention seeking. He doesn't actually care about representing anyone or making any change, he just wants credit for doing the "right" thing and standing up to men because he's a badass biker chick/expert programmer/master journalist/champion politician/pinball expert/number one racecar driver

• He can decry being a victim of racism and bring up all his Mississippi bullshit.
• He can be the gallant defender of Frank, who, despite John's multiple claims of Frank's manliness, is just a poor innocent bystander who doesn't deserve any online hate.

The problem is, Brianna has no qualms about threatening someone's livelihood. He's doing it right now to President Sunday. He did it to Lav, and actually specifically mentioned he would sue Lav because her fiance, who had nothing to do with the drama, has a lot of money and even named his employer and position. So Brianna, if going after someone's livelihood for online comments is kosher according to your own actions, then Frank is absolutely fair game, since you have absolutely nothing without him.

I don't really have any personal experience with this sort of mindset because thank fuck I don't hang around with psychos who care more about being right than being a remotely decent person. But from the outside looking in, I'd say it's borderline impossible that they didn't pick up on John being a shithead. You'd have to be completely oblivious not to notice his self-serving behavior. I think it's just part of the nature of leftist groups.

Circles like these are very insular, with everyone seeing a need to stand together so as not to project weakness that their enemies can exploit. This means that a lot of bad behavior will be shrugged off at the time; if someone complains, they're told not to make a big deal out of it because the cause is more important than their petty concerns. Naturally, when someone finally does something so inexcusable that they have to be forced out, that means there's a lot of baggage that everyone will unload all at once, and the result is a lot of entertaining backstabbing.

What's truly fascinating to me is how nobody is calling John out for not being an out and proud tranny. They're continuing to refer to him as a woman, either out of some sort of misguided respect for not misgendering (just like we saw with Chris-chan post-mother rape) or because they legitimately still think he's an actual woman. The third option could be even funnier: perhaps the greater tranny community is preemptively rejecting John's attempts to position himself in the group by denying he's a tranny at all. I think it’s impossible that you could be familiar with John and not at least have encountered people saying he’s trans. And having heard that, I can’t believe you’d look at him and the things he says and not believe it.
