In her new memoir, Gov. Noem recalled how she shot her 14 month old puppy named Cricket dead in a gravel pit because she was frustrated the puppy didn’t learn how to hunt pheasants fast enough.
She described how she “hated that dog” and described it as “less than worthless … as a hunting dog.”
On the day she shot the puppy she described her dog was “going out of its mind with excitement” on a pheasant hunt and then attacked a neighbor's chickens on the way home.
She then led the dog and a pet goat to a gravel pit before shooting them both dead before her children returned home from school.
The dog was a 14 month old wirehaired pointer puppy.
I'm willing to give a LITTLE bit of slack if there was like, professional breedering involved or something, like I recall JR has a story about when he was a kid he accidentally let the prize bitch out she got knocked up, and his dad made him kill the puppies because they were mutts. What a fucking insane bitch. Just cause the animal isn't good at hunting right now doesn't mean it won't be in the future, and even if it isn't, that isn't justification to put a healthy dog down. That dog at the least could have been adopted out to a family. Holy shit, this makes me MATI.
edit: This woman is a fucking psycho. It's bad enough she did this, even worse to talk about it
Tough to judge it too harshly without the context of the book, but its not like she's denying anything. Most regular people could understand mercy killing an old or injured farm animal, but shooting a young dog over training issues is out of their understanding. This probably isn't too far out to people who raise and train hunting dogs. Been around a few bred/trained hunting retrievers and "going out of its mind with excitement" is how I would describe their normal state. Some owners won't let you play with or give the dogs treats for fear of disrupting training regimens.

No I don't think they would. Outside of the more deranged pitmommy types, vets/shelters are given the benefit of "well they're professionals so they know what they're doing" in the eyes of the public. A controversial politician detailing the time she shot her dog won't be treated the same, regardless of how necessary the act was. And yes, I'm very aware that some (physically) healthy animals should be put down. The everyday people will not accept that she had to do it, dogs are looked at like people in the average joe and especially jane's head.If you don't have the stomach to kill bad animals, then pretty quickly, you will have a bunch of bad animals that consume all your time just dealing with them.
Most pets taken to animal shelters get put down for the same reason. There isn't enough space in the world for all the unruly animals. If Noem had worked at an animal shelter, people would be shitting their pants over how many sweet little kitties she held down while the mean ol' vet injected them with poison.
Well, I mean sometimes healthy people should be put down too, but they aren'tNo I don't think they would. History is literally the Marxist word for God.She's also called herself a historical figure. which is Crit Marxism code. To normies, it looks like she's more of a retard. But to crit marxists, its a sign she's one of them. Cause they believe that they're historical subject.
This has been true for about a decade. There's apparently a Ukrainian CIA bot farm in kyiv that is doing everything it can to help biden win the election. Having Ukrainians pose as Americans, trained in lingo and politics and having them randomly reply to everything to foster a false environment of support.
Not at fourteenth months old. That’s insane. How do you think animals are domesticated? You breed the ones that behave and shoot the ones that don't.
Has more to do with her choice of career than her ethnicity or sex, I'd say.So is it safe to say that white women should never be around dogs, ever?
You breed the good trainable dogs, you spay and neuter the bad untrainable ones.
Indeed. The dog attacked livestock (i.e. the domesticated chickens) and hunting dog like that will never acclimate to being a housepet. I agree it needed to be put down, but having to do that is a sadness and misfortune for both the animal and the owner. It's not something to be shared openly with outsiders who will never understand the whys of it all, and I agree with some criticisms that countryfolk can be a little too cavalier with the lives of both wild animals and the animals under their care. You don't need to become callous in order to do what is a grim necessity.Whether you agree or not that dogs who can't be trained should be shot, it's still big brain thinking to openly write about it when you know that you're already on the unpopular side and that people will find a reason to squawk about you even if you post that you changed brands of hairspray.
Noem should have lied and said that she shot a pitbull.Whether you agree or not that dogs who can't be trained should be shot, it's still big brain thinking to openly write about it when you know that you're already on the unpopular side and that people will find a reason to squawk about you even if you post that you changed brands of hairspray.
On top of this, Trump is the one who made it a felony to abuse animals so I'd assume after this admission he has to distance himself somewhat.
I don’t. All that says is city folk don’t deal with as nearly as many animals. The more you do anything the more mundane it becomes. Of course it will look caviler to someone that might only ever have only have one pet that was already house trained when they got it.and I agree with some criticisms that countryfolk can be a little too cavalier with the lives of both wild animals and the animals under their care.
