I still have my first Gamecube, and had to pay $80 for a copy of Pikmin 2. It's pretty fun, and I still need to beat it. If he plays the games, then it's fine; otherwise, sure, it's mental illness.

People sell ten times the amount of games he bought for like $5 on FaceBook marketplace. I've managed to get a box full of Sega Genesis and SNES games along with both consoles for free due to old people not knowing the price of them. I gave it all to family though as I had no need for them.
