Yeah, it can be, except Nick insists he's amazing at it. Just check all the shit he tried to fling at Feeder-in-Charge saying he didn't "pick up Nick's social cues" when Nick flipped his shit that Null thought Drexel's behavior was fucking gross and was calling him a groomer, because Drexel's behavior looked exactly like groomer shit. It's even worse when the shit Drexel was saying was literally said on video in Nick's fucking presence, and Nick claims Drexel didn't actually say it and Null was making up everything...except he didn't, because Drexel said it himself.
I know those people have difficulty understanding things like facial expressions, like when someone is looking utterly baffled at their "jokes," but even autistic people can figure out the idea that if nobody is laughing, they're bombing.
He gets butthurt when people don't find his horseshit humorous because he believes himself to be a comedic genius, OR he gets off from people being uncomfortable. Probably both. It's why he started coping with "It's so WEIRD" or "It's so FUNNY" over the dumbest shit when he gets pushback, like with the "reveal" that he had underwear parties in college because he wanted to see women in their underwear. Because being in your underwear is WEIRD and FUNNY. Except there was only 3 women at college who were hot, and and all the other women were ugly. But he wanted everyone to be in their underwear, especially the men. Because it's FUNNY.
As he's stated in the aftermath of his standup, he doesn't care if other people find him funny...because he finds himself hilarious, and good comedians don't care about their comedy being funny to other people, just themselves (lmao).
Also, the autistic people that are fully aware of their tism, and understand that they need to work a little harder to be attentive in social situations.
Nick is not aware, does not understand, does not work, and is not attentive.
He is aware in most cases but he doesn't care because he's an asshole whose entire idea of what's "fun" is based off of making everyone else feel worse--check the DND streams he used to do as a tentacle catgirl, as he derails the entire campaign throughout the sessions by going out of his way to drag it out, and then bitching that it's "taking too long and he's lost interest".
He's an asshole. Just look at how entertained he was when he said the diaper fetish shit with Megan, or just recently with Kurt and the Michelle Obama bit he tried. He gets way too fucking excited and happy when people visibly show disgust or discomfort towards the gross shit he says. It's probably the entire point for him saying the gross shit he says. I'd argue the opposite, he's actually MORE attentive BECAUSE he wants a negative reaction.
It all circles back to Nick being an asshole. I don't understand how he has even one friend, because it seems like he treats them all like toys he can play with until he can discard them for being critical of his obnoxious behavior.
