Sony isn't even a Japanese company now and is based out of California so I expect lots of extra scummy practices like this that even Nintendo wouldn't do as anti-consumer as they are

They apparently force the Japanese side to adhere to Californian censorship laws, I heard Endymion talk about that but he is a faggy grifter

That's the only reservation I have on stuff like retroarch. Though I haven't encountered any other autistic shit like that with other individual emulators.
Always make sure to uncheck "automatically check for updates" whenever you can because PCSX2 is unusable if you don't and does have a nice big pop saying what I paraphrased after you update followed by suddenly not being able to play your backed up physical games for no fucking reason.

PS4 and PS5 have no real exclusive games for them and PS+ is way more retarded than Xbox live gold ever was. At least XBL "Games with Gold" giveaways let you keep the free games you get with it so you can still play them long after your membership has expired years later. I learned the hard way that PS+ will immediately revoke your access to games you claimed with it the nanosecond your subscription expires and act like you never owned them in the first place. At least it was only 1 month but no one ever talks about this aspect of it.

Sony is just a californian company now that is going to kill itself and apparently Nintendo killed Sony's relevancy in Japan because the Nips don't want uncanny-valley/photorealistic soy simulators that have no actual gameplay

There's another theory that it's to tighten up moderation in anticipation for the gay month. Arrowhead's tried playing it cool by banning politics in their discord, but a lot of their community managers on Twitter have pronouns in bio, pink/blue/white flag, watermelon emoji (fans of The Current Thing). If they are secretly planning on implementing LGTV4K+ vanity armor/capes, tracking the entire playerbase through PSN to ban "bigots" would certainly be the first move.

I had to look up what stellar blade controversy was and man, im not gonna lie that was kinda fucking hilarious. I understand that people in Korea would not understand that cultural nuance and edit it out for a genuine mistake but Christ that was funny. For reference the photo attached is the issue at hand but this is just retarded. Sony is just became the by-word for stupid all over again after PS3 launch.

why are games companies run by the most retarded people alive nowadays? they just keep making the dumbest possible decisions for their games and platforms even though anyone with even half a brain could tell them it's a bad idea.
not quite as dumb as xbox and their xbox one launch but they are trying their best to make people hate them and their platform.

well shit, i was actually excited for ghost of tsushima, i even stupidly preordered it, they said it's just for some cosmetics and online features but now that playstation has shown their hand i very much doubt i will even be able to play this game i payed for. guess i'll have to pirate it. this is what i get for preordering, first time in like a decade i preordered a game.

If it makes you feel better, RetroArch doesn’t even have the capability to update within the app. You have to reinstall it if you want to update. But yeah, that PCSX2 thing is the only situation I’ve heard of where anything like that has happened, and I’ve used emulators for a long-ass time.
