One of the furries who has been exposed for viewing CP on e621 is now trying to defend himself, and is pointing the finger at Ruben Sim, saying that he views loli content on e621. Man really wants to get rid of Ruben Sim for exposing pedophiles (since he is a pedophile). He also made a thread which is basically just him trying to cope and deflect.

Proof: my sister. During a conversation she said something rude about Ruben and I just simply disagreed, and she lost her fucking mind. Literally called me and started yelling me over the phone and at my mom who was trying to calm her down. She's a grown ass adult.
Now she's completely cut contact with me, which is likely temporary since she's emotional as fuck, but it's been about a week now which is a bit odd. Oh well.

Ruben derangement syndrome is a classical example of people perpetuating an environment of terrible people defending other terrible people and attacking those who refuse to play by their rules.
Whenever a beloved creator on Twitter is found as a sex pest, they usually respond in uproar and gossip, not unlike what we do in the forums, which is, while not a tasteful reaction, it's a normal one.
But you see, sometimes, when they REALLY like a Twitter account they find it hard to accept they are a sex pest. When someone from their circle turns out like this, something different happens. Rather than laugh and be outwardly upset, they will lash out at the people who mock them. They frame it as "exploiting the victims and the situation" and instead get pissed off at THEM. They will try to brush it off under the rug while poising themselves on a moral high ground. A few months later the subject of the controversy is forgotten and he comes back without anyone noticing.
Sometimes, they get away with it, because in most cases, these are Twitter nobodies that no one outside of the website cares about. For people like Ruben, he doesn't appeal to their porn addiction enough to tolerate him.
Is Ruben generalizing people when he defames Furries entirely? Yes, but I doubt he would get this much derangement if he mocked anime fans or vtubers. Furries, on the other hand, are parasocial magnates because of an unholy mix of unapologetic porn addiction, "right politics", and trademark Hello Kitty mascot toxicity, which makes them a socially protected class on the website.
A similar thing nearly happened during the John Bob case, before the story broke out beyond the isolated bubble of art Twitter, people lashed out at people who mocked the situation, such as ChippleDipple. They railed on the one guy making fun of the pedophile more so than the actual pedophile.
