I like Retrobat and Batocera. I bought a dedicated MiniPC for retrogaming. It still struggles with PS3 (though with some PS3 games I can get decent performance) but everything below PS3 seems to work great. I also like buying tiny little SBCs (Rasberry Pis and others) and making them into little consoles. I put one in this case:

You can make SSDs with collections of games and the console OS on these cartridges (I use Batocera, but I've tried 3 others that are also good) & swap them out.

Don't you need a MS account to play some of their IPs that are on PC? Sounds like this is nothing new.
Minecraft Bedrock is linked to a Xbox Live account for online play and microtransactions. You can play the base game offline without problems.

I don't play any other MS games so wouldn't know about Bethesda, etc.

On-topic, I don't know if that contract they want people to sign is enforceable in its entirety anywhere. It will certainly run into trouble in any country with a legal framework based on Roman law.

Towards the end there is a section where you exempt Sony from the consequences of the laws of your nation in matters between you and them, an act I don't think is legal anywhere.

Shit like this is usually attacked in court by pointing out that you (the party who signed the agreement) are not in a position to exempt anyone from the law, and even if you were, there are certain constitutional/natural law rights which nobody, including himself, can sign away.

There is a South African case from the 1940s regarding "assisted suicide" which argues this rather concisely. A hypochondriacal German aristocrat signed a contract with his personal assistant wherein the latter was instructed to kill him and indemnified against all consequences of said act. I can't remember whether the PA got life or the gallows, but the contract got thoroughly shredded. (If I can find this case I'll cite it properly - I know I have it, but I have hundreds of other [paper] books too)

If you bought flavor of the month slop because it's popular and ignored all of the warnings about a Sony account, you can only blame yourself. Natural selection at work.
The ebin YouTubers like FLEEKAZOID who is case example of inconsistent flip flopping Ubisoft cuck, certainly help matters.

Holy shit. It takes less than 5 minutes to make a fucking sony account. Grow the fuck up. If there were less toxic faggot "pC mAsTeR rACe" people playing the game, maybe they wouldn't have bothered doing this in the first place? The moment something slightly inconveniences PC gamers, they chimp out and act like they're a member of some underground resistance movement or something.

It's cringe, and gay, stop it.

I'm not a sony fan, but It would be pretty funny if they refunded all the PC players, removed the game from PC, and ported the game to Xbox though.

What an absolute waste, why are we not allowed to have nice things.
Do we really have to answer that, or is that a rhetorical question?

If it isn't, then troons, Sony, and troons in Sony. Sony, seeing the gamepass writing on the wall is probably trying to finesse their way into becoming a DRM provider. Since this is one the world's most evil companies they won't just offer an innovative subscription service like Microsoft does. They'll try to harvest your data even if it nets them a single Venezuelan Bolivar per bit, and will probably partner with some shithead company like Denuvo or something so they can retroactively apply this change to even more games.

They've seen the many failures of alternative storefronts like EA's Origin, Ubisoft's service... They're malicious, not stupid. They'll go where the money is, not try to build a squeaky clean solution to try and impress boomer shareholders who are 20 years out of date. They will make you own nothing, and you'll be happy.

Just to chip in my two cents on the PC vs consoles.

You can pay off your PC via pirated games really easily. I spend like $800 on my current setup and pirated well over that price. It literally pays for itself, and you can use it for other daily stuff.
You can cut out money for music, games, and movies (and do free streaming if its still around) so you can actually save money in multiple ways especially if you get writable discs and burn movies on them for a dvd player so you dont have to autistically watch them on your computer

On the other hand consoles have just become drm-synogogue of satan double circumcised pcs where as you used to be able to at least pysically own most of your games on them they even took that away for the most part (show no mercy to the goyim style)

That's the dumbest thing I've read. You're not paying off your PC by pirating games, you're just saving money on your games. I guess my PC also paid for itself when I didn't buy or pirate Hell Divers 2, even more so because I didn't have to pay for bandwidth usage or electricity.
