I personally can't stand him.
makes up a whole bunch of shit too for "the story" and i think its in very poor taste
it used to make me cringe when he would go in depth with a womans inner dialogue about what she was thinking throughout the day
but then at the end of the story its about a woman who went missing and was never seen again
i get it, he wants the story to flow and have an easy to follow narrative, i just found that fake and gay and tapped out a few years ago
fun fact, he had a falling out with the SEAL Community, this is all if you take him at his word
story goes he didnt know what to do with his life after a medical discharge so thought he would start networking
hooked up with some investment big wig, so he gets introduced to even more investment people, and jobs start getting thrown around etc
he helps a bunch of his buddies who also had nothing to do returning from service
they come up with an idea "why not make a charity that creates events like these networking events we put together to help people returning from service" and they called it Elite Meet
Elite Meet started up and they were landing jobs for pre-service men all over the place, becoming a job service type thing, but they used social media to do it
Ballen says a bulk of the SEALS have a huge issue with promoting themselves or even talking about their service, he says they see it as taboo
Ballen starts telling some of his stories on social media as a form of marketing for Elite Meet and they were very successful
he decides "why promote Elite Meet when i can promote myself im really good at this" and starts additional marketing for himself as a brand
and its this last part apparently pushed them over the edge
he said he got messages from people he served with say to him "fuck you, dont say that shit online again, youre disowned from the community"
