Ozempic can be several hundred dollars a month which Tubbers can’t afford. The other option is to get it covered by insurance but requires a prescription from a doctor and she hasn’t been to a doctor in years because she’s afraid what they’ll say. Either way it’d be a failure because Tubbers believes that it is oppressive to not eat whatever she wants whenever she wants. It’s a nonstarter for her. Unrestrained hedonism is part and parcel of the Tess Hoolliday Experience.

I seem to remember chantal aka foodiebeauty was on such a drug long ago. She quit taking it because the drug eliminated the joy of eating. She couldn't gorge herself like before, it didnt hit the same dopamine receptors as before or some deathfat pleasue zone.

I expect tess to be the same. Its her only joy in life.

Not quite. She had the shots but supplemented them with 200mg THC gummies to increase her appetite. She stopped filling her prescription when the price increased because it was eating to far into her cocaine budget.

200 mg gummies? If eating edibles was an Olympic sport, she could have brought home a medal with that intake.

I used weed edibles from the dispensary when I went through chemo. 10 mg was usually enough for me, once a day, until about the last two weeks of treatment. Then I bumped it up to twice a day. 200 mg would have lasted me two to three weeks then.

It's the dirty little secret of oncology, at least here in the US. Doctors aren't going to tell you to go get it, but if they find out you are using it, they aren't going to talk you out of it. In fact, the nurses were perfectly fine with me using it, and even encouraged it over the prescription anti-nausea stuff like Zofran. It helped me deal with three nasty side effects that make chemo such torture - nausea, increased my appetite (losing weight is common during chemo, but if you lose too much you tend to do worse, because your body still needs fuel), and most of all, sleep.

I'd estimate about half of us in the recliners were "supplementing", and we tended to be the ones who did the best as far as suffering side effects. Chemo still kicked our asses, but we were more likely to complete the treatment plan than those who abstained. Take that as you will.

BTW, if you ever read Maureen Dowd of The NY Times' article about her "adventure" eating a whole damn THC candy bar in Colorado.....that will give you an idea of what 100 mg at once is like. She was flat on her ass for a day and a half, I think, maybe two. Don't eat the whole bar, kids! Just one square should do you. If you are a chocoholic, be sure to buy normal candy and have it on hand when the munchies hit. Don't be like Maureen.

Foodie beauty had her tolerance way up and was also supplementing with cocaine at the same time.

Minor pl but i know multiple stoners who can sit and eat a whole weed bar with little effects.

Daily users of marijuana edibles (some people have retard-level ADHD and should be stoned 24/7) can do 125-200mg a day. They tend to be using Sativas of the sort that can make a grown man cry from paranoia, though.

So I haven't seen people with severe ADHD getting stoned all day, but have witnessed the transformation when they were prescribed ritalin, they become functional people before your eyes. Also met cocaine addicts who to my non-professional eyes had massive ADHD and were worse not using than using. Stimulants seem to help ADHD, no idea why as its totally counterintuitive.

I should add I'm a Bong so when I say medicated for ADHD I mean a much higher bar was passed, mostly a lifetime of frustration, before the drugs were handed out.

I can't see any therapeutic reason why someone like Tess would be taking THC, but then again I'm not a physician. Guess I'm saying its 100% recreational and she can fuck off pretending to have other mental/neurological problems when no one gives a shit if you're a stoner.

Isnt it obvious? Tess has anorexia. People with anorexia are extremely underweight and so Tess needs it in order to be able to take in the calories her frail body needs to survive. Its a lifesaving drug for her! ( just like little debbie christmas tree cakes!).

The theory is that those with ADD have less dopamine than normal people.
Stimulants appear to have a calming effect on people with ADHD. They work through many different mechanisms and affect dopamine and norepinephrine, making it easier for individuals to concentrate and reduce impulsive behavior.
Dopamine helps support memory, motivation, and learning. Many researchers believe that inadequate dopamine in the brain makes activities less rewarding and therefore less motivating, which can cause distraction and hyperactivity.

Stimulants, such as dopamine and norepinephrine, may also work to promote calmness and focus.
Why do stimulants help people with ADHD?
Note that there's a bunch of qualifiers and weasel words in there, because way too many psychiatric medications aren't fully understood. That said, people simplifying ADD to just being hyper is a big problem too, it's supposed to be a persistent problem maintaining focus, not a free license to be annoying.
