Sony hate thread

It's funny that I got rated dumb for this post:
People are being silly if they think this will change anything. They'll just require it from day one going forward for all their newer titles.
And yet within 24 hours it's been confirmed that Ghost of Tsushima will require a PSN account for online play. Basically they've changed no policy and this whole debacle is nothing but a short term victory.
I take no pleasure in this BTW, but people are stupid to not see how transparent it all is. Do not buy Sony games period.

no more playing timeless classics like halo 3 ODST with your bros on the couch and trying out weapons you get from killing enemies, you must play not-Halo that is an always online experience and get your guns from a battlepass
Battlefield 1 with the homies, tryna crack that British line and Kaiserschlact our way to Paris.

You also seem to be forgetting the CM's and their fucking drama in this whole debacle, but I'm supposed to just say "aww shucks Arrowhead, come on in for a hug bud, all is forgiven"? You are fuckin' dumb, dude.
Maybe it's because I'm not 12 years old, but I'm willing to give the CEO a few days to dot his i's and cross his t's before chucking his CM to the curb. Yes, I'd like it if they were thrown to the fucking curb, but I'd also love to yank out a tick the second I see it. Sadly, in both cases, it can end poorly if you don't take care when removing parasites.

tbh Helldivers 2 is just a worse playing Halo 3 ODST firefight or gears of war 3 horde mode for algorithm brained zoomers who are too brainrotted to play with friends in a couch co-op, so I was all too happy as a Xbox 360 Halo boomer to see another live service die

The fact Sneedfeeders 2 is a live service grindathon with gameplay far slower than vanquish or warframe and lacks a fucking dedicated roll button or mechanics to take cover like other third person shooters have standardized since fucking 2008 is why it is shit, to me at least

to further reinforce my point, the galaxy map from Helldivers 2 is just the Galaxy map from Mass Effect 3 and the whole game is the shitty tacked on ME3 multiplayer mode we hated on launch back in 2012, idiot zoomers get to play worse versions of the scams EA made back in 2012

Why would you need cover shooting mechanics in a game where half the enemies are bugs that'll rush to you at melee range and the other half are enemies who use explosives + destructible terrain that make said cover shooting totally irrelevant?

These tards act like Sony started porting all their previously exclusive games to PC just because they're all really nice, generous guys and not because they're forecasting the end of the consoles as we know them and are desperately trying to diversify.
People have been saying consoles are dying since PS3, and yet the PS5 and to a lesser extent XSX was THE luxury item to try your best to get for years. It's calmed down now but it shows that there's never going to be total console death.

So, only get your Ghost of Tsushima on the high seas. Whatever.
Let them know you hate requiring the PSN account. You can do that. I'm all for it.
This was a revolt against a game that was clearly letting people play for months believing / assuming such an account wasn't required, only to then require one. It's different. It's a different topic entirely.
Obviously.

Welp, there it is - the single most retarded thing I’ve read all day. Ignoring how the PC market dwarfs this stunted to shit console Gen, Nintendo is the most apples and oranges comparison you could possibly make here.

Every day, I’m more and more convinced to just buy a prebuilt PC and wash my hands of console vidya. My PS5 is used for like, 2 games, and both would be better on PC if only due to mods, nevermind performance improvements…
Also everybody loves to say how good nintendo is doing but they completely cannibalized their wildly successful portable market to prop up their dead consoles. Switch Sales are going to decline each generation from here on, I reckon. Starting with a big drop with the next gen switch.
Switch third party support died in the ass quick, and the PC market is already moving directly into the portable market, it's probably the most at risk to being completely subsumed by PC in the next 10 years as the same tech in the switch allows increasingly competitive portable PC decks.

Yes, but if account linking is bad (it is) then it's bad at all points, not just after the fact. But you wont see the same criticism for GoT's requirement. In fact I bet GoT gets good sales/reviews on PC.

nicely shifted goalposts
I was talking about how this -- to quote, since apparently you're a fucking retard -- "was a revolt against a game that was clearly letting people play for months believing / assuming such an account wasn't required, only to then require one"

we're talking about two different things, obviously, and while one is bad, the other is outright and overtly nefarious

You're not understanding the point. They are both bad for the same reason; account linking is bad.
