We can't save everyone but I think some men really just are born a little sensitive and need to be taught the coping skills instead of being left to develop them themselves, because on their own they won't. Resentful men can benefit from learning from other men (who are familiar with male socalization and don't have to be touchy feely coddling them like some people worry about), but it's a hard fix to implement since there's not always enough people to help and not a clear way to help those who need it.

Each time I come, he asks me if his mom is forcing me to come. And I always tell him no, because his mom is dearly beloved to me and I want to help her and spend time with her.

Is it easier to blame mom and hide away from her and the world than to confront that someone you love is dying? I imagine it is for those with industrial grade copium blockers like he has. There's no need to feel bad about not helping and not being good when your mom was bad from the start and everyone is out to get you. That's utterly a shame, thanks to the two of you helping her.
