Sony hate thread

I'm just shocked that Sony doesn't have a PSN setup for the Baltic region. Like, they've got Iceland covered. Also weird that they're counting Åland as its own country, as opposed to part of Finland.
Is there any reason they don't just have a region for the EU as a whole, with different language settings or something?

Hell, how are they even going to swing making such a change to people who already bought it in the Baltic region? I think that's grounds for massive lawsuits and fines in EU rules if people already paid for it, refund or not. The potential cost of this move makes no sense.

Yeah, I just checked and it is no longer available for purchase. What happened to the Jap businessman, he doesn't like money now? They have brought shame upon their Zaibatsu ancestors.

I'm pretty sure this is Sony's Californian retards doing all this shit, not the Japanese folks. Sony HQ made a massive mistake moving the gaming division to California and giving it free reign. I wonder if they'll figure that out before the division self-immolates.
The de-listing is surely for legal purposes due to PSN access issues. And while its easy to blame commie-fornia for wanting to spread PSN, the Europeans have been no better in regards to, say, all of Ubisoft's pushing of always online and U-Play and Japanese companies are even worse, purposely gimping western game and anime releases on sound track and music choices, banning people from streaming games, charging ridiculous prices for ports of the mobile versions of NES and SNES Final Fantasy games and so much more. They're all (((God's Chosen))) in one way or another.

do we know that sony made that decision and not Steam (which surely didn't want to deal with this mess)? Is it just steam where these restrictions are evident? Are there other storefronts for PC?

They will, or at least their incipient PC market will die a fiery death.

It's that simple. Helldivers 2 isn't just a drop in the bucket, in addition to the user indignation at the bait and switch it sparked a massive debate about whether you actually own what you did pay for that, given that it's affecting Europe, is almost assured to run afoul of EU laws. Unless they reverse course hard now by firing everyone involved with this debacle and reestructuring the company, they can kiss PC goodbye. People are way less retarded than Snoy's misanthropes seem to think.

And if they give the retards who burn money even more free reign, that's just more incentive for them to burn more money. They will fuck the PS up, too. They will eventually make that insolvent as well if they're not sorted out.

different local laws/instability/payment processors. as easy as it is to shit on sony in the end they want to sell their rainbow moviegame slop all over the world. if they don't there's a good reason for it.

My girlfriend which might be called "normie" bought few years ago PS4 Pro in far foreign country where people sips tea in specific time of the day. In any case, she moved back to her homeland and as usual user she wanted to move from foreign PS Store to local one. To her surprise Snoy doesn't allow that. Even prohibits under ToS to do such malicious behavior. Her game library on that account isn't that big and she could re-log to it in case of need but that requires additional e-mail address specifically for that account.

On the other hand, Microsoft freely allows region change from their website.
I had the same deal. I move around a lot because of work. My PSN account is hardlocked to the UK (where I don't have an address or banking), and I can't transfer shit over to my current region. For that reason alone I never bought games on PSN, and ended up just cracking the PS3 wide open and pirating everything back in the day
you can buy a point card, even over the internet. least it worked back in the day. dunno how anal sony is now about IP ranges now, but outright banning people when it doesn't match the account (doubt they check in the first place or even can given how duct-taped together PSN is) seems unlikely unless it's obvious like china or russia.

Gamers impress me with just how passive and nigger cattle they are.
And by just how determined and based they are too.
and they are all retarded. the helldivers drama was also about countries where the game was previously sold but then legally couldn't play anymore due to lack of PSN. the only option is void the PSN requirement (not gonna happen) or restrict sales. it's on arrowhead that they went head and sold it anyway for three months.

ghosts still needs PSN for multiplayer, to be legally safe(r) in those regions they would need to sell an SKU with multiplayer disabled or restrict sales outright. dunno what "gamers" are expecting in this case?
so far only preorders happened, which can be easily refunded, even automatically.

Kind of wondering if the GoT refunds for no PSN are due to them updating the store page with a notice up top for requiring PSN for multiplayer. Like when the game launches you will be able to buy the game again just now you know about the PSN requirement to avoid another HD2 fuck up.

Sony could make so much more money from PC players if Sony didn't insist on forcing players to create an account for a platform they don't own. Why does sony insist on power tripping especially given the current economic situation? It makes zero sense to me.

Hubris. Sony thinks their position in the market is unassailable. Probably bolstered by extra hubris from the recent Xbox troubles with layoffs and struggling console sales.
