It's incredible to me that Sony finds this (not just lost sales, but refunded sales) superior to just dropping the PSN requirement. Fucking idiots.

Honestly, I've been totally out of gaming. I dipped out in like 2003 when I became old enough to go out of an evening. Recently bought a second hand ps4 with the intention of playing some of the good looking games that have come out on the mean time.
Like the cowboy game and the hogwarts game and shit.
But I've basically just ended up getting me old favourites.
Blasting through metal gear solid, so I can finally play mgs2 and 3 etc for the first time.
Having a way harder time on Crash bandicoot cos the game all newly souped up runs so fast so certain details are way harder..
Found this game which I had on demo and just having a lovely time.
(it was REDUCEDthank god from £44! They are taking the piss - and I am NOT paying 23 quid for Parappa the Rapper, in the year of our lord, 2024)
But the main thing I remember from back in the day, is the feel of the Playstation. The look of it, it was like a bright new future. Sexy, and a sense of humour but also loads of fun. It was melded in with what was really up front of music and design. None of the lame corny badly written cringe bullshit. But there was an actually artistically survivable music and design industry in larger society at the time..
I'm so disconnected from the culture of what's going on now in gaming but any tiny little look at it just seems insufferable. I don't want anything to do with what appears to be the bread and butter of modern gaming.
I don't even know though, if people are even like... Constitutionally capable of being the kind of creators we used to have.
Not to crap on about crash (that picture was literally just the first one off Google I grabbed) but you watch something like this,
(Sidebitch but I hate that the new controllers look more like those fatarse Xbox controllers-makes it more confusing to use, too. Never liked N64 or Xbox controllers..)

We don't have to pay for our internet access to games and you aren't going to start it. If you want PC players to pay for PSN, make an MMORPG. That's the only justification.

Been a weird couple of weeks for gaming. Sony and MS trying to outdo each other in a slamming-dick-in-car-door contest while Nintendo just casually announces that their next console is real and that there's also a Nintendo Direct next month.

Nintendo's only involvement in Pokémon Go is licensing the IP. It was Niantic that decided to push that update.

See this is what impresses me more... when developers found loopholes and tricks to make old tech and hardware that had limitations do things no one else would even think of doing. The ideas and creativity were out in full force and the effort showed in more ways than one.
GameHut is another channel by the guy from Travelers tales that goes through the shit he had to pull off regarding the sega genesis and the games they made for it.
