a pretty long post. This is something that is hard to sum up, so I just tried typing what I think. without putting any more effort and going through and editing I probably won't make my points as clearly as I would like, but I don't feel like putting in more effort than this.
If I'm actually being completely serious about the topic of racism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. I would say I really don't hate anyone based on something like if they are black or white. Gay or straight, trans even. I think MLK had a decent point in that famous speech. People should be judged on the content of their character. It just happens to be that a lot of the alphabet people have really shitty character. If I was to hate someone for just what they are, as in race or whatever, and not because of their actions, though, that would just be repeating the same behavior that these people do against places like this. They see the name kiwifarms, they know that some of the people that have a thread here say that this place "literally kills trans people!TM". But in all likely hood they probably have never been to the site.
I think the issue on both sides is prejudice. Its something I actively try to avoid, at least within reason. I think stereotypes, most of the time, are stereotypes for a reason. Though, I at least give people a chance before I make any serious judgement against them. Because, I would want them to do the same for me. Sometimes people can surprise you. I don't really have a problem with people that are actually racist, I mean I wouldn't be here if I did i guess. I generally just treat people the way I would want to be treated, despite who they are.
I think right now its pretty common for people to find some reason not to like someone, or find a reason why they are bad people. Like what was mentioned above in the thread, about canceling people for saying a slur 10 or 20 years ago. I don't know if this was caused by the Internet, and social media. Having everyone super interconnected, in weird parasocial relationships. And also able to pour through everything people have ever done then compare them against their perceived correct morality they have, because everyone always thinks that their ideas, are the correct ones, and everyone should think like I do. Me included.
I have been going through some of the older MATI streams that are archived on youtube. I one I watched recently Null mentioned something, and I think it is pretty relevant. He was talking about the super straight movement, and how it was snuffed out. It was as simple as someone posted about it on 4chan. They made some flags with SS and other nazi references with the colors from the other super straight flags. Someone on twitter, linked to it and claimed that it was a nazi thing the whole time and the next thing you know anything super straight related was being banned,
Josh said he thinks maybe the government just uses 4chan to kill any movement that starts to get traction by basically turning it into a nazi thing. Once it's associated with nazis in anyway. Everywhere wipes their hands from it. I think he made a good point. Though idk if it would even be any government that would do it, it could be. The more likely thing I think is happening with it though, is actually some progressive agitator or something along those lines.
They could see something they think is "problematic" go on 4chan post whatever nazi shit related to it, and link to that as evidence that the thing they want to kill is actually fascist. So every platform should ban it.
