I know he’s just a lying drunk and almost every excuse is just a cover for substance abuse, but I really don’t understand how he thinks having constant spontaneous family commitments in the middle of the night is better optics. Even if you’re homeschooling and a little looser with your kids they should have a fucking bedtime, or for the older ones, a “don’t bother me unless someone is dying” time. The only reasonable excuse I can think of is one of your kids has a serious health problem which requires frequent hospital trips at all hours, in which case just fucking say it, and everyone will be sympathetic. It’s all the dancing around the cause and vague references to having to drive for hours at 11PM that confirm that you’re a degenerate weirdo, there’s no good reason for that as a family man.
