Licenses are a stupid concept.

I'm of the opinion licenses of any kind are a stupid concept when you look deeply at it. Now I'm not against training and teaching someone for a specialized task but I think a reward or gift of licensecing for it is just another avenue of control and a way for government to interfere with you incessantly, as in making you renew it for vehicle registration for example. It's the same concept with government issued IDs, just putting you in the registry. A mark of the beast. Only animals have name tags.

I would have agreed with you if you meant software licenses, I just paid like 200 bucks to get MS Word on my new computer with the privilege of no ads and saving my work locally (:wow:)

But if you mean things like drivers' licenses, or CDLs, or law licenses, or medical licensure? You're being absolutely stupid. And TBH I'll even disagree specifically on vehicle registrations and emissions testing. If someone hit n' runs you, what recourse do you have if that person has no license plate? If the cops can't look up who owns which vehicle?
You are a retard and I hope the government puts you on some kind of slow-in-the-mind registry.

Type some or all of the following words into bing "gnu public licence libreOffice". I'll wait.

I only hope they merge it with the one at Microsoft HQ you just put yourself on.

Licenses aee necessary as retard filters. The issue is when recieving a license is virtually impossible so the government can artificially limit your rights and livelihood (or just straight up greed).

Hunting licenses are a good example, you don't want to wipe out source for game, so you need licenses to reduce the number of hunters. But I heard some places make the waiting time and pricing absolutely ridiculous since they've seen Bambi and think letting a huge amount of deer die from starvation is moral good.

Same with permits in national parks.

There are a thousand different ways to be an inconsiderate jackass in a national park. Permits minimize that.

From a surface level I agree, but if you look at crime stats it starts to make a bit more sense IMO. Criminals commit crime, and a lot of the times if someone has committed one crime they're not gunna only commit that crime. A lot of felons get caught breaking other laws such as suspended license, insurance, tags, etc. I hate that shit effects every day people, especially people like me that are too retarded to keep track of shit, but a lot of piece of shit felons get caught over these little annoyances so it's not all bad.

one time I saw a statistics collage that said that society is essentially structured wholly to deal with the bottom 10% of assholes who would otherwise fuck everything up for everybody. I think about that a lot.

So move to a Napoleonic Code jurisdiction. Sounds like your problem is with Common Law.

Tell me about it. I've definitely read enough Wikihow articles to competently perform an appendectomy, but for some reason no one will let me do it without a so-called "medical license." They won't just take my word for it that I'm totally qualified, they want some "governing body" of "experts" called the "state medical board" to assess my "training" and "qualifications" and give me some worthless piece of paper called a "license." It's just a way for the government to take kickbacks and control us, man.

Sarcasm aside, your retardation has compelled me to side with the government and "medical experts," and I hate you for that.

Yup, I completely believe it. If you think about whose committing crimes normally it's a small subset of people who just trend towards committing crime. The dude whose sticking people up is probably also the same dude who is stealing from stores, stealing from cars, assaulting random people, etc. Like if I think about the people I know who are committing crimes, it pretty much breaks down into the criminals I know and then everybody else. contrary to what leftists believe crime isn't dispersed equally across the population the vast majority of people in your neighborhood are trying their best to stay within the legal limits of society, while 1 or 2 people are doing most of the damage.

Everyone's downvoting him but like you need 1000 hours of training and a written exam to be a hair dresser in my state, while you have basically no requirements to handle other people's food.

In a world without government backed licenses, people would eventually find a standardized but non-authoritarian method of verifying people's skills.

I'm sure you could make a convincing argument. The UK has a TV license which is basically just the government robbing you for no reason.

Can you imagine what would happen if your countrymen decided that for ideological reasons they need to import that 10% from a bunch of other countries?

Shudder to think.
