Yes, she's next in line if Biden croaks. But I imagine that's not dream she had back when she accepted the nomination, especially if everyone else doesn't like her guts.

I got curious as well and decided to ask around. Nothing truly confirmed and quite a few conflicting bits of rumor but I sussed out a few things that are repeated.

1: She was informed there is no golden parachute for her. No book deals, no returning to CA politics, no lobby deals, nothing. Once Biden is out she is done, and it isn't her choice. A few of my acquaintances have posited from other rumors that she is viewed as pure poison with no upside.

2: Despite the above, the admin itself is actually trying to use her. She's apparently their go-to for directly connecting with on the ground leaders and governors. She is getting a first-class view of the absolute state of the Democratic party. She has, and this bit is confirmed, been repeatedly personally snubbed by political actors across the country. This was confirmed when she got drunk and ranted within earshot of a few higher level but nonaligned political aides.

I think you misread, the Biden admin is the one still trying to use her to play buddy buddy with the US politicians. Since they cannot rely on Biden.

The problem with this theory is that why wouldn't the Biden faction dangle her some sort of golden parachute in exchange for playing along? Should be easy enough to arrange do-nothing speaking tours, etc.

I'm not sure I understand the counterpoint. Presidents may be less well-known, Vice Presidents almost always are. And every little school child would be able to recite "Kamala Harris was the first female president of the United States".

Maybe I misunderstood what your post was saying.. If Kamala Harris did become president, I do agree that would be definitely be talked about constantly by the media even if she was terrible at her job. Maybe she could become like the first female prime minister of Canada who failed spectacularly in less then a year and now goes on speaking tours to "inspire" people.

Yeah, this is also a part to consider when it comes to food products specifically.

Back when I made an effort to calorie count for around 13 months straight, I found that at some point you must give into the idea you will inevitably spend more money on product either, lost (by purchasing something smaller, to avoid impulse consumption) or wasted (by throwing away product you should not consume, as you have either hit your limit, or are comfortably full and should responsibly avoid further consumption).

With soda, I'd say to avoid it most of the time anyways, but in the off chance you do pick it up now and then, it's not like min-maxxing the price per ounce is the healthiest.
I mainly like pointing out the economics behind it, as it's a super simple concept (as we are aware buying in bulk is cheaper intuitively) but is often forgotten when its so low stakes.

I definitely recommend the price per ounce checking when getting groceries though. Some places even have it on the label on the shelf.

I do this as well, but for quite the opposite reason. I go out of my way to always purchase the most cost-effective products (and order at restaurants based on what has the highest calorie count) because I have a very low appetite. I mean, I do it because I'm a cheapskate as well, but mostly because I am trying to get the most calories inside me relative to how much food I can force down.

It seems in the UK it's mandatory for products to have their price per 100g on the label, that makes this easier. There's typically little difference between similar products, so I typically don't find i "suffer" by going for the cheapest version of whatever I'm buying. (There are some exceptions. Spam > Pek, for example)

I never said they were happy with her. She was practically the only option for what fit their criteria and, surprise, she is awful. The Admin is still trying to get use out of her as basically the punching bag of the admin, someone to vent at for how bad the admin is fucking up. And very occasionally as someone to try to schmooze though everyone with eyes knows she is bad at that.

Why have a cushy future for someone who you don't like and are putting in the most unpleasant possible position? Its not like she can turn on them, everyone outside the admin hates her just as much.

No, he didn't say it came to him in a dream sadly. But he does start off saying "Despite making up 14% of the population..."

I propose an experiment. Have an AI impersonate a doctor. Group A has a caucasian sounding voice. While Group B has a black/latio/native sounding voice. Based on the race of the person. See if they would accept the results of whatever the doctor says. Have the AI being fed by a real doctor mind you. Not an AI feeding whatever it feels is the best answers.
