Yep, he's got autism alright

What in the everloving name of God is this? Just so you wait until he finds out that Walt Disney (and by extension, Mickey himself) was an anti-semite. He'd go for another "ficto" at FTL speed!

a bunch of retards like us were enough to snap you out of it alone? wew.
If retards could snap him out of it, imagine what high-IQ intellectuals could do to him. He could be marrying a Hatsune Miku plushie like that one Japanese man did if it weren't for us!

I've never understood why the guy got so obssesed with Miku. She doesn't have a personlity beyond "nice girl", and it isn't as if she were the first character to ever be like that

Hatsune Miku's appeal is found not only in the music artists who use her well (Take for example World is Mine) but also in the fact that:
She doesn't have a personlity beyond "nice girl"
This is surprisingly incorrect, she has no personality whatsoever. Hatsune Miku is meant to be a blank slate, a baseline for an artist to create something out of her, and for a personality to come out of it. All Vocaloids are blank slates like this, and I believe that to some, this is enough to make someone like Miku thrive inside their mind, some like the man I referenced above, just look at her and go "Oh look, that's the love of my life" and form a parasocial relationship that absolutely has no impact on their dignity whatsoever. None at all. Nada.

Well, it is an exercise in creativity, at least. I guess there's a silver-lining for all of this

Been a long-time lurker from this thread (waaaaaay before I made an account here), and it's kinda sad seeing how boring waifuism culture got these past years, specially on reddit.

... I guess that's a good thing, people became a bit more "normal" and self-aware... well, as good as having a romantic relationship with a fictional character can be. But I do miss seeing people like JediRalts and him pissing on his catgirls, or that lady who comissioned a life-sized Squidward plush and apparently married it.

Sometimes I check r/waifuism and even r/FictoLove to see if there's anything cringeworthy to laugh about... but eh, it's just people gushing about their favorite characters without being too insane about it (or in r/FictoLove's case, with its users having thousands of different fictional boy/girlfriends at the same time like it's an egg hunt, but way more polygamous.)

Is there any other website I can use to watch terminally online weebs/tumblrinas being insane like this thread or nah?

Doesn't she have semi-official songs that give her a personality? Like the Vocaloid songs that get remixed by a million artists?

I'm going to be real with you: I am convinced this is due to the rise of AI Chatbots. Previously, waifuists needed an echo chamber like reddit to feed their delusion and help them stay committed to the bit. Their waifus couldn't validate their feelings, so they needed a community to do it for them. But now they can just download an app, create a character based on their waifu, and then have it roleplay with them to their hearts content. They don't need each other anymore. Simple as.

I wonder if the polygamous part coming from zoomers is the exact reason it's gotten so boring. I doubt anyone's going apeshit for every character in their harem like, say, someone making a life-sized Squidward as you said. Quantity over quality both for them, and unfortunately, our own amusement.

It's less that there aren't any batshit crazy or interesting waifuists anymore and moreso that r/waifuism has become significantly more diluted than in the past.

There's plenty of classic waifuists still in the depths of the discord servers, untapped content that holds a mighty fine candle to JediRalts or Nycteris or Niqua. The Squidward plush, I'll admit, is a hard goalpost to reach. But the hardest part is that the full stories are really hard to piece together if you aren't in the know. The subreddit in particular is an absolute behemoth now and the amount of normal waifu posts really hide any sort of funny personal lolcow content if you don't know what to look for. Most of the quality posts on this thread are from former waifuists who hold a grudge towards specific members and thus do the hard work of finding and showcasing the insanity.

The general consensus is that Miku is a sweet and kind girl that has the "liked by everyone" personality, but she really is whatever you make her up to be. She even died in a music video featuring fellow Vocaloids Kagamine Rin and Len (twin Vocaloids released a year after Hatsune Miku, and a year before Megurine Luka), killed by the latter. I forgot the name though...
