I forsee darkness ahead of for site, and not without proper reasoning. Look forth at the current happenings, as you can see everything has been silent for days and days now. Soon the current happenings will have nothing to announce. Now I may not look it but I am a veteran of many years and I have seen this dark omen before. The calm before the storm. This same thing happened many times before. Right before the incident of Barbera, right before the coming of Keffals and the temporary fall of the site. Happenings always come to a quick stop before the biggest happenings of all. See the recurring announcements as a parallel for a healthy heartbeat. I may be wrong but I certainly see the signs. Prepare yourselves everyone, for the forecast seems harkening.

Eh, I think we're in for some big happenings, at least in the mid-long term. With the economy being as shitty as it is, I feel like a lot of the potential cows will start to bloom as their lives and income start to become more unstable. That along with the troon narrative slowly falling a part we are seeing society have to address the realities of it more and more. Now obviously we aren't going to see vast coverage of their degeneracy, but the powers at be are starting to realize that their investment into the far left isn't paying off, so the guard fails that have kept are starting to lose stability and I think that will lead to a push back that will result in more and more unhinged behavior here for us to laugh at. Also I think with Twitch & Tiktok on the verge of losing relevancy I think we will start to see a lot of their creators fall into desperation with some becoming degenerate e-beggers and others attempting more insane behaviors to maintain relevancy.

I just think we are in the perfect time in history to watch people lose their absolute fucking minds as the world falls apart around them.

'Tis folly to presume that our gossip club shall wither in the absence of tumult. Nay, for even though the udders of bovine of yore are no longer full of shitposting cream, we shalt rejoice in future milking.

Verily, dost thou heareth the latest folly? Philosophytube, in his boundless hubris, hath concocted a scheme most ludicrous and laughable! He doth intend to fashion a spectacle wherein he forceth a mummer to pretend to be his own past self, and then he seeketh to crack his own egg!

The milk of mirth hath not curdled. The supply may hath shrunken from abundance, but we shalt enjoy lactation of such that even the Gods will guffaw.

The world is going to get so fucking funny by 2025, best decade ever.

My general working theory has been that happenings frequency is based upon Josh Moon's mood.

Basically if there are a lot of them I figure he's doing ok and is in a very energetic and social state, and if they go quiet then I figure maybe he's crashed into a more depressive, apathetic mood and I take a moment to hope for his speedy recovery.

Lolcowism is much more of a habit of excess though, if times get tough chances are internet communities will fall apart as people are forced back down to earth.

We can already see it now, so many crazy people just don't have the will to do it anymore. The crazy spectrum has flattened out significantly, with far fewer standouts and way more common variant "Angry/horny sperg on the internet" types.
They've lost their aspirations and have settled into a cocoon of social media, consumption, and political droning or dropped their internet presence altogether.

The world may get stranger, but for the specific niche of apolitical crazy internet person watching idk if it'll be a positive change.

Don't worry fren, there's always been crazy people, and there will always be crazy people. They're a renewable resource.
With the Internet we don't even have to pay for a tour of Bedlam.
I think the upcoming US elections will cause much weeping and wailing, one way or another, and stress is great for making people completely lose it.
It ain't over till the Fat Boy takes his servers and goes home.

Like the Chinese proverb says, "may you live in interesting times". With the current state of the world, some very interesting things are around the corner.

After thinking about it for a minute I'd probably have to concede to your point. If we look at a lot of cows, a good portion of them seem to be a result of the whole "Good times create weak men" concept where a lot of our favorite cows grew up with everything handed to them or done for them, and came up in a time where there were things good enough and worth enough obsessing over. On top of the consolidation of thought and politics being hamstrung in to everything we have a lot more formulaic crazy spread out over a larger area that's harder to pin down and focus on along with communities becoming more supportive of degeneracy and a refusal to isolate bad actors.

I'm not sure, maybe what will see is a rise lolcow communities doing crazy, which while interesting, will be more bland than the individual whose all over the place crazy.
