I understand what you mean - within the culture of Progressive absolutism, mixed signals can and are conflated into outright sexual assault. It's entirely possible that the 'consent accident' claim was exaggerated and Liz's minimization of it was his honest perspective.

I don't think that's the case however, because everything else we've seen from Liz, from his personal blog, to his YouTube channel, his behavior to others, his comments about pornography to people's accounts of him all point to somebody with a pathological fetish for control. Everything has to be just so, everything has to operate on such and so rules, everything has to be how he believes it should be, which makes it entirely believable that he's like this in the bedroom as well. Consent means two people agree to sex.
Consent accident means something happened in the process, something one party didn't consent to.
