King of the hill appreciation thread - Yup.

If I had a comedy writing course this would be one of the examples I would use as perfect character writing. Look at how well made this is:
>Hank isn't put into this situation unnaturally, he sits next to Gilbert Dautrive because he was horrified to see Bobby wearing a fancy blue suit during dinner and didn't want Gilbert's gayness (or Dandy style) rubbing off on his son
>Hank tries to maintain civility by talking sports, asking about Football in this case the New Orleans Saints which he'd assume Gilbert would be a fan of
>Gilbert uses the opportunity to make his Tennessee Williams-style metaphor and Hank just looks completely dejected

Just perfect set up and delivery. I really don't think you can ask for anything more.

The whole episode was hysterical through and through. Bill having to interact with Gilbert and the prostitutes were one of the show's best comedic character interactions. Even Bobby doing an impression of Gilbert was gold

It was a wholesome episode through and through. Heartwarming, let alone funny as hell, through and through. Though I wish Boomhauer would've been a perfect movie trailer announcer, it would've been better than being in an armadillo suit

I honestly liked the last episode, but I would've added one more scene at the end. Later that evening after the party, the guys are standing in the alley drinking beer.

"Yep."
"Yup."
"Yep."
"Mmhmm."
Zoom out slightly, showing Bobby standing next to Hank with a root beer.
"Yep..."
Fade out.

That wasn't the actual last episode, although it was originally intended to be one when the show was about to face cancellation. The episode had a different ending, but when Fox greenlit for a couple more seasons, that ending was cut. The official series finale was when Bobby Hill became more knowledgeable with meat and have entered the state competition with Arlen Community College to identify cow meat

I don't know, given how much of a creeper he was, the rise of the internet and his attention to bobby back in the day I suspect 2024 gilbert is either riddled with stds from gay hookup apps by now or is doing some seriously creepy shit in some questionable discords. Might not be something we want to see

Then again, a hank vs discord creeps and HRT sellers episode might be quite the thing to see. Could write in that he already took out dale for discovering his secret during one of his many spying schemes. No doubt ending with boomhauer arresting him as a texas ranger

Remember, there is medical grade HRT and bathtub discord HRT, a gentleman must know the difference
