I know you're being optimistic, but has there ever been a case where any company has fixed a translation due to backlash? They're editing the DEI out of the localisation hopefully.

I think Ys 8 was fixed after an incredibly shitty initial translation.I know you're being optimistic, but has there ever been a case where any company has fixed a translation due to backlash?
One of the Gunvolt games got a terrible localization that was later updated to match the original Japanese. But yeah, that’s not what Nintendo is doing here.I know you're being optimistic, but has there ever been a case where any company has fixed a translation due to backlash?
Samurai Maiden from D3 Publisher was a recent case to my knowledge where the English translation was fixed in a patch update.I know you're being optimistic, but has there ever been a case where any company has fixed a translation due to backlash?
do you have any dlc on your wishlist? don't you get a lot of sales spam emails with you being notified whenever one of those games go on sale?So I hate how there's a size limit on how many games you can add to your wish list on the eShop. The max seems to be 398.... not even a full 400. Why isn't it unlimited?
You can't even purchase multiple items at once so you'd have to clear a whole weekend to buy all that. Have you tried dekudeals for wishlisting, it is quite a bit better. So I hate how there's a size limit on how many games you can add to your wish list on the eShop. I occasionally get emails like "this and this on your wishlist is on sale!"Still, that shouldn't have anything to do with the wishlist.
- I have a few bundles on the wishlist that include DLC
- That's only if you follow a channel. When you buy a game, you automatically are followed to that game's channel (if it even has one, which some games don't, and sometimes it's just the publisher/developer's channel and not the game itself). But you can also search and find them manually in the news section. There's like 3 channels on the switch you are followed by default when you buy the Switch. You can remove them, but I keep the Nintendo News one on so it alerts me for whats new on the eShop and the sales that are active on that same week. Besides, the majority of the news channels have like 1 or 2 posts from years ago, so they aren't as active as the Nintendo one is. In fact last time i got any news outside of Nintendo was for the DLC update for Bloodstained Ritual Of The Night
Haha, I see an American SNES tucked away back there. Secret importer...Don’t pin this on fanboys, It’s much more likely someone trying to sabotage Nintendo’s reputation. Or some anti-emulation sperg who thinks roms bring down the value of their physical collection.
Speaking of which, Sakurai posted a video about his game/console collection that’s so massive and organized that it would easily put anyone on this site to shame.
On one hand, it’s crazy impressive and you can tell this guy has a deep passion for games. On the other hand, so much of this would be made redundant by just emulating.

I’m phoneposting right now, but pretend the top panel is Sakurai’s collection and the bottom panel is emulator chads.
Its a SNES mini... for some reason he likes the mini consoles and it had different games.Haha, I see an American SNES tucked away back there. Secret importer...
this is actually not as unprecedented as you'd might think - the co-founder, John Schappert, apparently held Iwata in high regard.Shiver has previously worked under Embracer porting and developing games like Mortal Kombat 1 and Hogwarts Legacy for the Nintendo Switch.
It’s about time Nintendo got an in-house porting studio. Even Sony bought Nixxes and Bluepoint, despite not actually being in the business of selling games.Nintendo Announces Acquisition Of Shiver Entertainment

Well, this came out of nowhere. Not something I had in my bingo card. While I felt that Nintendo should start acquiring parts of Embracer, Shiver wasn't exactly what I had in mind.Nintendo Announces Acquisition Of Shiver Entertainment

Shiver is actually one of the studios that Embracer held over from the sale of Saber Interactive. Looks like they weren't actually all that interested in keeping it.So much for the remaining parts of Embracer being "not for sale." Lars' words are as worthwhile as his purchase of Asmodee.
That’s an interesting choice. Weren’t the Mortal Kombat ports infamously bad? Also:Nintendo Announces Acquisition Of Shiver Entertainment

Does that just mean Switch 2, or will a Nintendo-owned company port games to non-Nintendo platforms?Going forward, even after it becomes a part of the Nintendo group, Shiver’s focus will remain the same, continuing commissions that port and develop software for multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch.
MK11 was decent. MK1 was bad, but apparently it was a rush job and the game was next gen only, so more compromises had to be made. I think they managed to get it into a playable state after a few patches. That’s an interesting choice. Weren’t the Mortal Kombat ports infamously bad? Also:

But we want to focus on Vivian, a fan-favourite and member of the Three Shadows who eventually joins Mario. We adored her in the original, and she’s just as great here, with fantastic battle prowess and a heartwarming story arc, made all the better by the updated localisation. In Japanese and several other languages, Vivian was always a transgender woman, but in the original English script, this was omitted. Now, in English, Vivian talks about accepting her true identity – specifically, her gender. It’s just one or two scenes, but it’s a pivotal moment that should have always been there, and we’re glad it was 'restored' for the Switch version.
