From what I hear, if you have the money and are a serious lifter EliteFTS is a great company.
Otherwise just go for a used home gym or a basic but well made power rack.

This Mexican dude "El Campeón" (the champion) got noticed by Ronnie.
I hope he El Campeon doesn't become too mainstream. He's a funny lolcow in the lifting community that is funnier when he thinks he is lifting heavy. If he becomes a mainstream lolcow, it won't be funny anymore
It's why seeing that retarded Mexican fucking around in the gym doesn't sit well with me. If anything, the dudes recording him - and now pushing his merch, are making him a disservice. The day when he gets injured, he's gonna have to eat a big fat piece of humble pie, but like you say, only then the lifting scene will gang up on him and go "oh noooo but we tried to warn him!! what went wrong??". But they won't do it out of the goodness of their hearts, they do it for the clicks and the alalgorithm.
This guy needs a thread. A lot of the old lifting cows are gone and were never big here. I've seen ego lifters in every gym and I hope this guy is playing a chatacter.

KF doesn't seem to keep track of fitness cows. Shame because Blaha and Zyzz (as much as I enjoyed his positivity) had a lot of classic moments. Now everyone is on TREN and the worst than happens is they get caught on PEDs after denying it.
 
Anyone have experience with weighlifting shoes? My converse are getting to the end of their life and I think its time to get the big boy heels for max quad gains, but other than addidas and squat u's shoes, I dont see many good options.

I used to watch Blaha just to laugh at him for his fake merc crap but then he got boring when he started coaching. What's happened with him lately?

Zyzz is kind of interesting because there's legitimate theories as to what actually killed him. There's the "passed out in the sauna" official claim. There's the overdose claim (possibly combined with sauna). There's also a rumor that he got botched facial surgery and because of that, he an heroed. Chestbrah is still milking his brother for whatever he could so he has given out conflicting stories. My guess is he died in a sauna because he was supposedly complaining of heart symptoms before his Thailand trip and he did a shitload of rec drugs and PEDs

It will be sad to see all of these trened out 18 year olds dying in 10 years from all the gear. Like Sam Sulek. Guy won't make it to 30 the way he is going

I've used Nike Romaleo 2s for a decade and they'll likely last another one if I continue taking care of them. I like them because they have a decently wide toebox an incompressible TPU heel, and a wide, flat sole. The newest Romaleo 4s are equally excellent but for some reason Nike chose to make them with a narrower toebox. I'd tell you to pick up a pair if their width won't bother your feet.

If you need a wider shoe check out the TYR L-1s. A few guys in my gym use them and swear by them.

Both use laces and 2 velcro straps, which is my preference.

Neither is cheap but if you train 5+ days a week they are well worth the investment.

Decided to start primarily using kettlebells for exercising. Its been a great experience. I really did like doing olympic lifting, but the movements without professional assistance can be dangerous and ive had a few unfortunate drops.
I realized some of the movements I do (like a barbell ohp) are easier than doing them with kettlebells (like ohps). I also like rowing with kettlebells more. Doing swings also feels great. Going to start incorporating turkish get-ups into my routine too. Anyone here do kettlebells? What benefits have you gotten?

I prefer dumbbells or kettlebells for rows but honestly that's just because I can superset them with bench easily. I do think there's obviously a benefit to training each limb with a separate load so you don't end up with one side overcompensating for the other though.

Also not strictly lifting related but I recently switched to intermittent fasting, but specifically meal timing such that I fast all day, lift, immediately get all my protein+cals in and then go straight to bed, and it's been going pretty fucking good tbh. The only method I've found to simultaneously cut fat and build muscle that actually seems to be working, albeit gradually. Gains are nowhere near what they would be on a bulk but they're occurring, which is neat.

The broccoli-hair college crowd can be annoying but there's no bigger tell that the day's going to suck than seeing someone haul in one of those stupid phone tripods with the light ring. That sort pioneered something one of my old gym buddies called 'dragonball lifting' in which they travel all over the gym collecting 45 plates, rack way too heavy ("put them all together and then they fucking wish") and then proceed to take 20 minutes to do one half-extension set while making overexaggerated grunting for the camera.

Anyone here do kettlebells? What benefits have you gotten?
Started doing heavy swings when I got back into the routine after covid. I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure they're what fixed my intermittent lower back problems. Really gets your heart rate up too. The angled curl using them that got posted a couple pages back also been super helpful for avoiding elbow pain and giving me something to superset cable pulldowns with.

Yeah its a shame about Blaha and the Misfits, way more entertaining than alot of the stupid lolcows that havea following. Moon Cookie is old news Im guessing.. And are people ACTUALLY paying Blahino to coach them? That sounds unfucking believable but he is talking about "Muh Clients" on his rambling videos.

What's a good weight for a kettlebell noob as a man? For hip swings especially. Been thinking of getting one to get some neat bonus exercise for my lower back. I'm not in good shape but I'm trying to get there and I don't want to go too light. I imagine somewhere around 60lbs or 30kg would give me some bang for the buck for quite some time? Or have you guys found 40lbs/20kg to be enough?

I'd appreciate answers from anyone with some kettlebell experience.
